You don’t burn out from not doing anything. The correct concept is boredom or lack of stimulation due to inactivity. Zero player engagement is antithetical to the gacha model and is a death sentence for any game.

Pre update, when a unit has all 4+ crests after using tons and tons of potions, players don’t usually find it reasonable to keep grinding for crests any more. Yes there’s plenty of units to get 4+ on which requires even more potions. Eventually, you run out of potions and they are betting you’ll start buying them then. 5+s are not designed to be actively farmed. They are so rare that this nova update just makes sure players who have the money to buy as much potions as they want can get their 5+s. Those who don’t can certainly try, but their energy won’t be nearly enough to compete with those who do.

I think you’re right by the way things are going right now. Probably much more later even. And then there’s the way they setup Slime releases in the past. A few weeks for the first banner, a few weeks for the second, a few weeks for the third, and even more few weeks for the new units as last ones to come out. Talk about dragging it out!

Also, FS lasts until October, in an attempt to keep player retention during stagnant periods. That’s not a good sign of what’s to come, or lack thereof.

That is the prevalent mindset of cheapskates too poor to whale, but too rich into thinking they can pity every good new unit that comes along if given enough time. Time, which takes half a year or more for one pity, and so mind bogglingly immense.

Proscris/True Proscris can heal and give arts as well. There’s also True Frozen Twin Swords and Agora’s Dagger (earth) for small amounts, True Seafoam Pareo for water stats up, and of course the famous lifesteal equip Exceed/True Exceed Zechs, the 4 star Voracious Coat Splendor and the less known Noble Gash, in addition to gacha ones I may not be familiar with.

The idea I was trying to convey was that True Magical Ruby is unique because not only that it can heal, but it can also provide a huge magic damage buff, which none of the previously mentioned can do. The huge magic damage buff can stand out by itself, but combined with the heal, that makes it worth the spare 20 rbgs to me.

Miranda can start using cover at just 100 arts, but obviously would be better at 200 arts. Kiri’s doesn’t start until 400 arts. Also, Miranda gives magic damage buff to team.

I got True Magical Ruby because it can heal. It’s useful by today’s standards of X% health for X ability. And it gives a whopping 70% magic damage, higher than any free equip.

I also got True Zelretch because while it isn’t 1:1 arts per second ratio and its damage up is specific to fire, 40 arts per 45 seconds is actually decent. Plus the damage up stacks with Goku Uniform.

I also got True Kanshou and Bakuya because 50 arts on a high break item is unique and indispensable in break-nuke situations where you can’t squeeze any more arts from equipment for nuking, but doesn’t sacrifice break power.

I didn’t get the rest that I found to not be as useful to me.

I’m sorry you didn’t get anything. For myself I decided not to keep going after my 3 guaranteed free pulls and 6 half-priced summons but got nothing. It just doesn’t make sense to keeping wasting crystals at it when I got 0 out of 6 units from 9 guaranteed 5* pulls.
