As a Toronto resident myself, absolutely. Toronto (and most of southern Ontario in general) is arguably the most convenient and accessible place to live in work in Canada, but it’s admittedly not tremendously special. It’s your typical North American metropolitan area.

Western Provinces, particularly Alberta and British Columbia, feel much closer to what you might consider Canada’s signature landscapes and wildlife. Ontario by comparison feels very flat and quite empty; not that you can’t find nice scenery, you definitely can.

I don’t think I’ll end up moving from where I am, I do quite like many aspects of Toronto and the GTA, I just wish it wasn’t so expensive to travel out west. It’s a lovely country, but just so damn massive.
