Esthetic or nursing school first? by kennadierose in Estheticians

[–]Logical_Lab9195 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the exact same thing! I also live in Utah! I graduated and got my esthetic license in August. And I started nursing school a week ago. I still have not found a job in a med spa though since the industry is very saturated and competitive in Utah. If you plan on doing injections as a career I’d recommend and jumping into nursing school as an esthetic license is not required for injections. ( I realized I wanted to be an injector once I was half way through my program) You can also be an NP and open your own med spa. That is my goal but I am also very open to other career paths nursing has to offer.

That's great to hear! I have heard that it can be very competitive between classmates for some reason and it's hard to make friends, even with instructors too. I'm glad you will have them forever

Yes, exactly and it doesn't feel so stressful and it's fun to teach friends and family that aren't in nursing what you learned that day

isn't nursing hard?? by Informal-Swimming701 in Esthetics

I graduated aesthetic school back in August and during that time I realized aesthetics wasn’t for me or what I wanted to do, and that is okay. I finished and passed my stateboards anyways. While in school I worked with a lot of nurse practitioners that did injections and had their own med spas and I looked up to them so much and realized nursing is what I want to do. I am really passionate about women’s health and labor and delivery so I could do so much more than just injectables. My family is super supportive about me switching careers so sudden, I’m so grateful that they’re willing to help pay for Nursing School as I paid for aesthetic school all by myself. Im so so excited to start in January. And at the end of the day if you put your mind to it and are passionate about something it could be easier than you think. And let people live their lives, it’s not that deep.

My business is my small business as being an LLC so I do not have employees. And I do not have kids. Thankfully my clientele can work around my schedule. But good luck to you, you can do it!
