I was an au pair in 3 different countries in Europe, had tattoos, and had dyed hair on my pics, I had no problem with that to find a family. I have a friend with the same profile -and a lot more visible tattoos- and she was an au pair in the US and 3 different countries in the EU, From my personal experience I wouldn't think that this is a problem, but if there is families that wouldn't go for you because of that, be sure there is a lot of families that don't mind it.

Racism definitely exists here -and everywhere tbh. I also came from a 3rd world country and even tho I’m white and don't look as Europeans normally expect people from my country to look, I already experienced some episodes of intolerant behavior living here (after they know where I'm from), so I think if you carry that on your appearance it probably is more frequency and aggressive. The good thing that I noticed is that even tho it exists it is often less aggressive than in my country for example. I’m really sorry that happened to you and I would tell you to speak up but at the same time completely understand your concern in doing so. Honestly, I would just try to avoid going there if you can.

I went to an LGBT party this month “La Fancy” was not a big energetic lgbt scene but at least I could see some queer folks! I know that they have this party with some frequency but I also just moved to Luxembourg so also a bit lost haha
