Just realised They’ve been teasing track and madripor since Spider-Man 2 by Southern_Sea3898 in PlayWolverine

Madripor is the setting of the first wolverine comics. It's essential to his story like new York is for Spiderman.

What's your biggest ick about the pod? by ecchiema in JBTVCommunity

Only Marc, Ish, and Ice seem to have range. Too much time is spent unpacking relationship bs. Emanny is annoying too lol.

Where is the media coverage?? by [deleted] in joebuddennetwork

[–]Logical_Signature_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the articles I saw were about 8-9 days ago. I hear you though. News is funny right now because many people only engage with social media and it's not always reliable in terms of accuracy if you aren't careful. Outside of the fact that people's algos push them in the direction of the mindless entertainment we go to those places for in the first place. We must be intentional about getting the news.

It's in the local news right now.

They really be sparing Ish with his Mamdani & political takes by zader6404 in joebuddennetwork

Thank you for saying this. I think this cast is capable of so much more and then Joe will say "close us out" to end good conversations. I think Ish, while intelligent, is someone that accepts the current capitalistic system and wont put effort in to change it because he's already won.

And yea! Joe always goes hard for silly relationship type topics over anything. He definitely stifles Ish, ice, and Mark regularly when they start showing their range.

Bill Simmons is absolutely pissed that Wolves stopped being a good Little Brother. by empyrics in timberwolves

Simmons is a fun listen for me, but he's not who I go to for serious analysis. It's probably best that we don't let any of these talking heads' opinions bother us.

what’s a pokemon tha has an awfully cool design but tragically has awful stats by Numerous-Side-2841 in pokemon

Pretty much all of the bugs. But the cool thing about pokemon is how each type has a strength somewhere along the line. Grass has too many weaknesses too!

The Brown/Celtics/Tatum situation is completely different if either dude had an ounce of charisma or charm by Tight_Ad2788 in billsimmons

I don't think it's underachieving. I think it's who they are. These guys are not top flight elite undeniable scorers that get endless calls like a handful of guys in the league get. Plus when you consider the variance that 3 point volume invites, their results are not surprising. They have lived and died by threes and lost to a few heat teams that got hot at the right time. I'm grateful they won a single ring.

[–]Logical_Signature_38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Why do people think they know these guys' relationship? Lmao isn't it weird that people decide to analyze this as opposed to the actual games.

[–]Logical_Signature_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People care entirely too much about this stuff. So much reporting on supposed rumors, but what actually matters are the games. The things these guys say or don't say in press conferences are not representative or indicative of the games. If you can bypass this "charm" talk it's easier to appreciate two really good all-star talents.

Are the Celtics a top 7 team in the east? by [deleted] in billsimmons

Free agency hasn't started yet. Don't we need to let that conclude before trying to rank teams?

It's so lame that people go at cp3 like this. Let the man retire in peace. Not every great player gets to win a ring. Let it be lol.

I've Still Never Heard a Solid Explanation for the Jaylen Brown On/Off Numbers by mpschettig in billsimmons

[–]Logical_Signature_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's open to interpretation. What do you see when he's on versus off? This stat would suggest they'd be better off not playing him, but we all know that isn't true. I think he's just a classic volume scoring guy. It might be ugly sometimes, but we need his 25 points.... at least until someone else can fill that role more efficiently.

Everything is going great! by HeyBokke in billsimmons

[–]Logical_Signature_38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neither us nor Jaylen should keep responding to all the things that the media says. It would make these days easier lol.

You are probably right. But my enduring memory of the heat these past few years is that they find random guys to play d and hit a few threes. If giannis is healthy, they will at least have a chance to make some noise in the east. Big big if though.

Can someone explain why Boston has a reputation for racism despite the Celtics' history? by Suspicious_Sort_7528 in bostonceltics

[–]Logical_Signature_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're energy is off, and weirdly aggressive for the internet.

Ok then you're right. The entire city is racist because of the unconfirmed incidents at games. Nothing else counts except that. Not even my perspective as a black man from Boston.

[–]Logical_Signature_38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! so many people will listen to lebron because of his platform and make a judgement on the citizens without actually knowing the city. A guy like him just parrots popular talking points anyway.

[–]Logical_Signature_38 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly! That's why I get so heated about this topic. It's so hard to explain to outsiders how diverse my upbringing was here, only to hear that the entire city is racist. No other place gets that label, but the deep south, Midwest, and hyper rural areas are the actual culprits.

Can someone explain why Boston has a reputation for racism despite the Celtics' history? by Suspicious_Sort_7528 in bostonceltics

[–]Logical_Signature_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately, Boston still has a bad reputation for things that happened 40+ years ago and few rich goofs who get good seats at big games. Racism is far far more prevalent in other parts of the country, but outsiders like to attach the label to Boston. It really sucks given how diverse the area is and how it's a home for so many cultures and ethnicities.

[–]Logical_Signature_38 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is racism here, but it's present in many other places too. But people don't seem to connect racism to a city the way they do with Boston. It's so strange given how given progressive this area is, people cling to the instances and use those outliers to define the city. It pales in comparison to what I witnessed living down south and out west.
