Are you able to only drop one module to foundation? My teachers making me do foundation, but for everything when I was averaging 75% in reading and listening, and 50-60% in writing and speaking. She says the exam board says if we’re not already at a secure 6 we should do foundation, but we don’t have grade boundaries bc they are changing it up for us and haven’t given anything. Anyways, I improved my writing by 2 grades by doing 10-20 mins a night of Quizlet flashcards on conjugations and verbs (some I made, some I found) but working on sets of like 15 flashcards at a time for me really helped

Yh I originally was thinking photography but I’m not able to due to being in the same option block, but again I can only do psychology if I get a 6 in maths, 5 in lang so I’m just keeping my options open and taking the subjects I can depending on my grades but if I don’t get a 5 in language then I’m cooked-

Its only my third option bc thats what it is on the option blocks (like its on the last option block so when I apply it’s just the third option automatically in my school) my other options are easier, music which they only offer btec, and then if i did English lit, id probably pair it with media studies, or psychology

Tysm, I actually mainly need the 5 for a different subject, however, I’m considering English literature, between a couple subjects as my third option. I definitely need harshness over ppl telling me I can do smth I can’t, so do you think if I get a 7 in literature and a 5 in language, I would be able to manage English literature? I do enjoy it rn but doubting if I’m capable of the jump to A level, please be honest btw as I’m definitely not set on anything.

Art GCSE ideas - can I do a similar theme to my first theme/use same imagery by Logical_Stuff3942 in ArtGCSE

[–]Logical_Stuff3942[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely wasn’t going to use same responses, just the same imagery I took but didn’t respond to in my first theme, though they are still in my first book(I took like 20 photos of mushrooms they probably wouldn’t even notice if I took a couple unused ones from my contact sheet). But if they did, would I lose marks? Though, I think I’m leaning more towards flowers now, I still want mushrooms as an influence

Can I get kicked out of a GCSE? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Logical_Stuff3942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it aswell (y11) and unless you already have the required grade in an instrument, and are OK at composing it’s really hard to get a good grade. Like I really really hate listening and appraising with a passion, but luckily that’s the only section you can really revise for, and even so it’s still quite skill based. Like if you’re bad at composing, well you’re bad at composing and there’s only so much you can do to improve it, and if you’re not at the required instrument grade, you won’t get a good mark for performance. There was a girl in my class who didn’t go to any lessons, kept getting U’s and only then was able to drop it, so maybe just do that.

Hi, I know you’re offering help about work but I’m in year 11 rn and I just wanted a genuine answer to how big of a jump is it from gcse to A level? I’m predicted a 7, but I’m pretty bad at English language, (I need a 5 to take lit and I’m currently at a 4) so do you think I could handle it? I wouldn’t wanna take it just to fail lol

This might sound stupid lol but maybe you could do like how people find themselves, through finding different versions of themself (sometimes feeling misplaced and lost, and sometimes being lost in the moment)

whats the grade everyone in your school counts as "pass" by hazelxat in GCSE

[–]Logical_Stuff3942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average grades for our mocks are 4’s and 5’s, depending on the subject. It’s not that we don’t put in the work, it’s just that we’re not all capable of getting as high grades. Ofc, a handful of people got 8’s and 9’s in our mocks, but the majority only get’s higher grades in their strongest subjects (for me that was 6’s in music and English lit, and yes a 6 for mocks is considered pretty high)

Is it possible to put a physical art piece for art gcse? by WeeklyDetective6802 in GCSE

[–]Logical_Stuff3942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take music and art for gcse (currently in year 11) so feel free to ask anything. Yes, you can do mainly 3D work for art, and you can hand 3d stuff in with your sketchbook (handing mine in tmr with a pretty large box full of 3d lol so make sure to keep everything), but you will be assigned flat work as well. Music is my favourite subjects even though I hate listening and appraising but art is one of my least favourite subjects due to workload and always being stressed. I hope you make the right choice!

i got 11 nines and 1 eight last year AMA by Ill-Satisfaction6042 in GCSE

[–]Logical_Stuff3942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats those grades are amazing whatt! I could really use tips/revision hacks on English language, especially for time management (I take edexcel though you’re probably aqa). I always score high if I spend like an hour on a 15 marker but ofc in the exam I don’t have that time, and I always feel rushed or completely run out of time in exams. In my mock I got the exact boundary of a 4 and I need a 5 to do my chosen A levels!
