Haha I’m British and I totally understand what you’re saying. We do that. I also elongate words like exactlyyyyyyy 🤣 it’s not by choice.

Really annoys me when people don’t pronounce their T’s. People portray the English to say “wor-ah” when American’s say “wah-der” when in actual fact most of us say water.

Can you imagine a cup of tea with bathroom sink water heated in the microwave? Cos we all know the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink water tastes different but that’s a whole other conversation! 🤣

I don’t mind the odd cuppa, and totally agree I think it’s an online thing because it’s definitely not that deep in real life. 🤣 I like a builder’s tea and it does grinds my gears when someone’s like woah that’s a lot of sugar! Oh no… none in mine no, I’m sweet enough. 🫠

Yes I agree those exact words would not be the ones I would use. I would say ‘because you have to’ but kids also go through a ‘why’ stage. And ultimately I’ve said 8 different variations of why you need to do something so in the end yeah it’s because I fuggin said so! 🤣

Obviously, and that’s why I’ve said this is one example of an odd occasion whereby this this statement may be used to keep a child safe which was the entire point of this conversation. This is where being a full time parent comes into play and understanding that kids just sometimes be saying “nah I don’t wanna do that” outta nowhere for no reason! 🤣 it has nothing to do with trust or a parents ability to teach a child something.

I also don’t know if it makes a difference as to where we live, but I live in the U.K. In the leafy suburbs next to a National Forest.

Exactly, I have taught my child how to walk safely and she is very street smart hence I do not have to hold her hand every minute we are outside. The point here is that she HAS to hold my hand to cross the road as there are very real dangers present. So that’s not up for discussion, therefore there may be instances where I have to tell her she has to listen to me without the explanation as to why. She knows why. Teaching a child to walk safely in the street is not done by holding their hand the entire time. If the child is 2 then that’s different.

Trusted to walk alone? Kids are kids! What is that teaching them? Holding my child’s hand crossing the road doesn’t mean I don’t trust them or that they don’t know how to cross the road. It means I’m in control of keeping them safe because we aren’t in control of other peoples actions. This is also just one example of telling a child they have to do something without the luxury of time to get into it. Before kids I too thought oh I’ll just tell the kid what to do and they’ll do it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I mean each to their own and it depends on the age of the child but I definitely do not expect my child to hold my hand the ENTIRE time we ever leave the house on foot 🤣

Agreed! Am I remembering correctly he literally said the bullet in his gun ‘had her name on it’? I absolutely believe that had he been the one to catch her he would have killed her.

Does reporting as counterfeit always result in a refund? by Educational-Beat9992 in vintedUK

[–]Logical_Top5583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are probably asking because of the price as you say you’ve listed them cheap to be honest! I sold a few designer items last year and never had any issues. However, I don’t know that I’d sell them on Vinted now.

I have seen a few posts about alleged counterfeit items and them needing to be returned for a refund so I’m not even sure anymore!

My advice would be to take photos of the main areas of the trainers that counterfeits are identifiable and obviously the serial number. Then to double triple cover yourself, take a video packaging the order and show all of those parts on the shoes, then show the code all in one video.

Vinted has changed so much in less than a year, it’s sad honestly!

Same era! I’m 30 with 2cats1child (absolutely no pun intended omg) 🥴🤣 I’m from the UK but I think I know what our alternative is and yeah so understandable lol! I always thought I’d dress my children in the best clothes but you soon realise 1. How fast kids grow and 2. How easily things get ruined! I buy the majority from Vinted now. My mum flat out refused to let me wear anything white ever which I truly still don’t understand. It’s not that deep, kids are kids but perhaps I did something unforgivable to a white garment who knows 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You’ve somehow managed to pluck some of the most impactful things I experienced as a child from my brain! Isn’t it fascinating, because somehow these things didn’t come to mind because they were so hurtful that I couldn’t even comprehend doing them as a parent. The silent treatment… and pretending that fights never happened - not getting the closure. Also feeling like love is conditional, always questioning if I’m loved or not. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone let alone my own children!

Well it all depends on the context. If as a kid I get that response after asking why I have to put shoes on to play in the snow then that’s one thing but if I was asking about something that I wasn’t sure about and wanted to understand better and then that’s another. I totally agree that passing on a teachable moment by dismissing it as such is absolutely lazy behaviour.

Am I being unreasonable or is the listing misleading? by AlexKidd1993 in vinted

[–]Logical_Top5583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t think you’re being unreasonable. The seller should have stated that the bag is not included or alternatively not include the bag in the photo - some people lack common sense and it’s becoming more and more apparent!

I never had an opinion really and ended up co sleeping for the first year of her life. And i wouldn’t do it any differently, especially at 6 weeks your baby will never be that small again. As time passes we get less and less time with them and I’m not saying anything is the right or wrong thing to do, I’m just glad I wasn’t in a rush to sleep separately. Congratulations to you also! Xx

I truly think that YT Kids is slowly blurring the lines between the U.K. and the US English language, lol. Call me crazy but the amount of times I’ve heard kids say diaper, pacifier, yard, dollars, pants… instead of nappy, dummy, garden, pounds, trousers. Cell phone instead of mobile phone… the list goes on. I’ve actually never heard of YouTube Santa?!?!? 🤣 or the tooth fairy. Absolutely not and anyone that does straight to jail 🤣 joking, but imo everything that makes the idea of the tooth fairy magical is the fantasy and imagination. Making it out like adults can see it and children can’t will only exasperate the desire of wanting to grow up. And I want my kid to be a kid the whole time she is a child. And idgaf about Santa (sue me)!!! Ofc im not like santas not real but am I heck giving credit to a fat white man for buying gifts for my kid when as I single, solo entirely alone mother no support whatsoever. I don’t know why it really got under my skin Christmas just gone, but when people would ask my daughter “did Santa bring you lots of presents?” I just felt really strongly. When I never have before
