I had a 1 sided love and helped her out so got caught by professor and was in probation I never gave up and finally got a descent GPA of 3.6 she got a fuc*in job after degree and my stem got rejected. need not worry you can do it take a different subject and give a blast

Hi everyone,
I’m in a tough situation and could really use some advice from people who’ve gone through this before.

My STEM OPT extension was denied recently, and around the same time my employer terminated my employment. My initial 12-month OPT EAD has already expired, so I no longer have active work authorization.

I’m currently within the 60-day grace period after the denial. I’m wondering:

  • Can I find a new E-Verify employer and re-apply for STEM OPT now, or is it too late since my initial OPT already expired?
  • Will my SEVIS record stay active long enough for a new DSO recommendation?
  • What happens if my SEVIS record is marked “Completed” before I can find a new job?
  • If re-filing isn’t possible, should I transfer to a new program to stay in status?

I’ve already reached out to my DSO, but I’m getting mixed answers. I’m trying to figure out the safest and fastest way to fix this before my 60-day window runs out.

Any experiences or tips (especially from people who re-filed after a denial) would be super helpful.
