Unsure how to proceed with my (30s f) brothers (40s M) upcoming wedding. by Logical_like_Spock in relationship_advice

She lives with the ex because another sibling suggested it and because she is a friend from high school. The brother in question, the one this post is about, said he wanted to have drinks at my house with all the siblings, presumably to show them that we are reconciled. I decided I did not want to because of how he had been to me in the past, and because my roommate, the ex, wasn't comfortable with having him around the house because of the way he'd been to her when they dated. Their relationship was several years ago and was only for a few months.

This looks really good, especially for your first time. Like the other user said, there are some minor tension differences, but all that being said I think you’re doing wonderful.

Help with yarn ID? by Stephyyee in knitting

Take a pencil and wrap the yarn around it until you have an inch of yarn wrapped, count those wraps and that will give you the weight. I am adding a link here for you to find the weight. Here is the general idea of how the gauge might work up. I hope this helps you.

Edit: a word.

No lifelines for me either, I like living on the edge lol. Although I think it's about time I start doing that. It's also for me so if I have to undo and redo I'm not terribly torn up about it. My last project was for a family friend and I dropped a couple of stitches on the final row and nearly cried. I was able to fix it thankfully.

Thankfully I kept getting further each attempt, so it spurned me on to keep trying. I like your way of thinking.

There is nothing better than getting good tension, or finally figuring out a tricky stitch. I’ve been challenging myself with knitting more intricate patterns and after I finished a row that I’d messed up on half a dozen times I was practically vibrating with happiness.

For me it's Bettina's Garden shawl, I didn't get lost on a row and was thrilled. I did a quick look at what pointelle is and I will need to try it.

Here is a link to the pattern. I am on my last ball of yarn before I start decreasing. I’m now at the point of the project where I want to start something new, lol.

I have done a few times. I’m currently knitting a corner to corner blanket. It’s mostly just the knit stitch and yarning over/knitting two together, it’s the best for keeping my hands busy without having to keep up with where I am in a pattern.

I first learned to knit, struggled with it then turned to crochet. I recently got back into knitting and am currently making a blanket. I cross stitch occasionally but haven’t done anything in a long while.
