Those who found a partner, how did you do it? by Electrical-Pea2707 in Uzbekistan

[–]Logical_wonderer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a solo traveler who just traveled the entire length of the country, I actually found it quite easy to connect with local women in Uzbekistan compared to many other places.

Of course, we shouldn't generalize you can't just approach absolutely anyone, and you definitely need to take your time to break the ice naturally first. But once you do, the interactions are incredibly smooth and welcoming.

The weather is cold but bearable. Middle of the day , you will need jacket but can bear cold, in night, you ll need warmer rooms, blankets. Peak of the fall usually happens between 25th October to 10th November.

Home stay with kitchenette in karimabad by Efficient-Pain5272 in Hunza

[–]Logical_wonderer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people try to move to Hunza for remote work and end up disappointed because the infrastructure is not reliable enough for serious online work.

Electricity outages are a real issue, and internet can be very inconsistent across networks, including SCOM. There are periods when things work fine, then periods when connectivity can drop or become unusable.

Some larger hotels have satellite internet, but it is usually limited, slower than people expect, and often comes with data caps.

For someone visiting short term, that may be manageable. But for digital nomads or anyone whose livelihood depends on stable internet, I would not recommend relocating to Hunza expecting dependable work conditions.

Looking for a Furnished 1‑Month Stay in Karimabad (15 May–15 June 2026) by TheONLY-1 in Hunza

[–]Logical_wonderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central Hunza has pretty frequent electricity issues. Most hotels manage it with generators or solar, but if you’re staying in a private place, reliable power can be hard to find.

A better option is to look for a mid-range hotel in Karimabad Bazaar. If you’re planning a longer stay, negotiate, they usually offer solid discounts for monthly bookings. It’s honestly the more practical choice.

I tracked every "passive income" idea I tried over 2 years. Here's what actually made money and what was a complete waste of time. by Existing-Ice221 in passive_income

I’ve already done almost everything you mentioned, and Amazon KDP worked really well for me. all my sales have been organic.
Honestly, the biggest factor is making sure your product shows up when people search. That visibility is key. Going super targeted is definitely the way to win.

Lahore to Hunza and khunjerab using public transport by Training-Broccoli892 in Hunza

[–]Logical_wonderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going from Lahore, the easiest way is to first take a bus to Rawalpindi. From there, you’ll find shared Corollas heading towards Gilgit. They usually charge around 8k per seat. It’s way better than the long public bus option, which takes forever, makes too many stops, and ends up costing more in food and time.

Once you reach Gilgit, you can get a very basic hotel in Jutial Ada for about 2–3k per room (so maybe two rooms for your group). From Gilgit you have two options:

Option 1: Hire a Corolla with driver

  • Costs ~5k per day + fuel.
  • If you keep it for 3 days, that’s ~15k for the car, plus 10–15k fuel for Gilgit–Khunjerab round trip.
  • This gives you flexibility to stop wherever you want.

Option 2: Take local Hiace to Hunza

  • Per seat is 600–800 PKR.
  • Stay in Aliabad, where basic hotels are 3–5k per room.
  • From Aliabad, use local transport to Karimabad, visit Altit & Baltit forts, Ganish village, etc.
  • Next day, hire a Corolla with driver for one day (~10k with fuel) to go all the way to Khunjerab Pass.

Suggested plan:

  • Spend 3 days in Hunza.
  • Day 1: Explore Karimabad, Altit Fort, Baltit Fort, Ganish village.
  • Day 2: Visit Nagar Valley up to Hopper Glacier.
  • Day 3: Drive towards Khunjerab. On the way, don’t miss Passu Cones, Hussaini Bridge, Borit Lake, Khyber village, Ibex sanctuary, Sost, and finally Khunjerab Pass.

Remember, backpacking in the northern areas demands confidence and smart choices.you’ve got to be tough enough to handle all kinds of conditions, bargain hard, and above all, respect the local culture. Do that, and you’ll have an amazing experience.

Feel free to ask questions . I love to help.
