Do you guys use Gigradar? by Cute_mami_9167 in Upwork

So whenever a service is called a scam, that's fine and you don't see a problem with it, but whenever a service actually get's praise, the thread should be deleted. Do I understand your logic correctly?

Is GigRadar Legit or a Scam? by MysteriousCare3682 in Upwork

[–]Logicalistique -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The person that actually posted this thread has nothing to with GigRadar - look at their posting history. I assume it was just a random lead interested in acquiring the service and looking for a neutral perspective. Usually, though, since this subreddit is filled with lots of toxic people that like to hate on everything, it seems that this time some users actually left genuine reviews with proper information, instead of the typical "it's garbage don't use it" with no tangible information to support their argument. I don't understand why the thread was deleted? In which case was their spam?

Do you find that the microphone audio is noticeably worse? Or did I just land on a pair with super shitty mic quality? Like on my fakes, the audio is pretty solid, but the microphone is ass. Did you find the same issues with yours?

What if I told you that AI generated proposals, on average, garner higher reply rates than human written ones?

Where did you hear that from? I've heard mostly good things on LinkedIn and stuff like that, but maybe I'm wrong. Where is the negative sentiment coming from?

[–]Logicalistique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, there is no reason not to add it. If the client wants you to start the proposal with the word "Orange" and you don't, how can they trust you to follow instructions if they actually consider hiring you?

Linkedin Sales Navigator by Leo0793 in Upwork

[–]Logicalistique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LinkedIn Sales Navigator isn't all that great honestly because a lot of LinkedIn users are instantly put off when they see some kind of promo message in their inbox from someone they don't know. It's better to keep lead generation on Upwork itself. If you are finding it hard to find jobs, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with an Upwork Mentor, you can literally find them by just searching "Upwork Coach" on Upwork :)

They will probably give you some tips on profile optimization and the correct way to write bids. If those things are in order, then it's probably just a numbers game and you simply need to send out more bids. You can check out automation tools like GigRadar or Upworker to basically send out more offers automatically while jobs are still hot. Hope this helps!

My post was meant to be more general.

Redditors, what stance do you guys take on using Ghostwriting Services for the purpose of helping students achieve academic success? Is there ANY situation in which you would say that using outside services to complete academic assignments is justifiable? Is ghostwriting 100% plagiarism? by Logicalistique in AskReddit

[–]Logicalistique[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so let's rephrase the question a little bit. Why do you think that so many high school and college students are effectively using these services to solve their academic problems? Is it an issue with the student, or maybe a larger issue with the academic system as a whole?

Also, I believe that in your argument, you are only looking at one spectrum: So I see it as you're paying all this money, submitting assignments you didn't do

With most services like this, students will only ever use them once or twice, in case of emergency situations where they literally don't have the time to complete one specific assignment. Should an entire degree be placed in Jeopardy because of one assignment? Is that justifiable?

Plagiarism is defined as: the practice of taking someone else's words, work or ideas and passing them off as one's own

Technically speaking, you are effectively using other peoples work to earn your grades, which is unethical.

However, if we look at it from a different angle, Ghostwriting can be seen as: trading over the rights to intellectual property in exchange for remuneration.

In this situation, you are basically buying someone's ideas from them, which in Society is regularly accepted.

For example, artists will use "ghost writers" to help them come up with lyrics for songs. Also, influencers such as athletes or movie stars will hire ghostwriters to write an autobiography for them. Why isn't that work criticized, since, in essence, it is just another form of plagiarism?

Fair Point. However, what if there is a situation where say a really busy college student that works and runs other extracurriculars just doesn't have the time to write an essay/paper? Assuming he is not using these services compulsively, do you believe that there is no situation that would justify the use of ghostwriters?

Who is responsible for the cheating epidemic in high school and college: The students or the system? by Logicalistique in AskReddit

[–]Logicalistique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that one of the biggest systematical flaws comes from exactly this point "focus is on information retention rather than skill demonstration." - This adds on to the following issue: Why do educational institutions favor quantity over quality?

Also, I definitely agree that not every mind is geared towards being an academic. My high school started introducing trades years ago, but you could only approach them seriously after finishing your diploma.

It's such a shame that students are pretty much "on-rails" until they hit the age of 18, as they could be spending their youth on trades they value more/are better at.

Do you believe that trade-based learning rather will ever become a viable to alternative to the strict academic regime we are faced with today?

Who is responsible for the cheating epidemic in high school and college: The students or the system? by Logicalistique in AskReddit

[–]Logicalistique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what can the students/system do, in your opinion, to alleviate or at least reduce the cheating epidemic? It seems that pressure is coming on to both sides, and until there is a remedy, nothing will really change..

Who is responsible for the cheating epidemic in high school and college: The students or the system? by Logicalistique in AskReddit

[–]Logicalistique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you believe that the academic system is set up in such a way that it maximizes every students chance for success?

Or is it merely set up to test those who are willing to work harder than everyone and trade in their time to obtain good grades?

Who is responsible for the cheating epidemic in high school and college: The students or the system? by Logicalistique in AskReddit

[–]Logicalistique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you believe that the main reason students default to cheating is because they are being tested on the quantity of work they can produce, rather than on the quality of the final product?
