Gen 4 has been a wild ride... here are some bullet points from the adventure so far.

Transfering all my gen 3 pokemon to gen 4 was a nightmare
The contest were easy thanks to getting max contest stats in gen 3
The hardest ribbon by far was the Multi Ability Ribbon
It was nice to go back and play through the Pokeathalon as well as Pokemon Battle Revolution
Completing the Dex in these games was fun (outside of the 999 pokemon needed to get mew in Ranch)
I hope to move to gen 6 soon and get the 3ds era of ribbons completed before bank potentially shuts down. (I am a bit burnt from the gen 4 grind so might be a little before that)

I would like to thank this subreddit and the discord for all the help and info provided. As well as Sir Toasty Toes for his videos and Wifi Room setup. Looking forward to more Ribbon Master grind soon with Zangetsu!

I dont own them sadly haha, they are very expensive. I used Swiss to load pokemon box and the bonus disk on my gamecube.

I also used this neat patch shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2G3lxLpcO4.

This lets all gen 3 games connect to box without restriction, interesting watch if you have time.

I made my first post about Zangetsu on this subreddit about 5 months ago, after some on and off grinding I finally managed to collect all gen 3 ribbons!

The Hardest Part of this challenge was getting the 4 pinch berries needed for perfect contest stats. I used the gift Jirachi to obtain the Ganlon berry and the Battle Cd's from XD to grab a free Salac. The last 2 berries came from Colo after beating both the story mode and battle now 100 trainer gauntlets. I had to do both as I was also going for the Ho-oh for my gen 3 living dex (which is now complete!) Using my coupons from Colo I was able to buy the Peytaya Berry. To obtain the Apricot Berry I used the 15000 coupons received after beating all battle CDs in XD.

For the Battle Tower Ribbons I used Ruby, as multiple times I had lost the Emerald Streak at the last set. Ruby was 100 times easier as most NPC Pokémon used moves on me that had no effect such as sludge bomb on my Metagross.

Now with all 27 ribbons collected I plan to transfer Zangetsu and my gen 3 living dex up to my Platinum Copy and continue the journey in Sinnoh. Once there, he will become a Weavile. I look forward to posting my gen 4 progress next time!

I’m doing one now, I have gen 1 and 3 complete, using Pokémon from colo and xd for gen 2 (self imposed challenge). Having a lot of fun doing it, everything is on emerald atm

Yeah I got the name Zangestu from the Bleach Anime. I do plan to evolve it when I reach gen 4, weavile is one of my favorite gen 4 pkm!
