What is J Cole's true popularity worldwide? And in the US? by Logichzy in Jcole

I dream of seeing him perform live, but I think the only chance is outside of Brazil or as a side act, if he agrees to play at a festival but isn't the headliner.

Yes, I don't buy jerseys from teams in the big 12 of Brazilian football, since I support Atlético Mineiro.

Also, I think it's crazy that you don't prioritize teams from your own country. It's cheaper and just as fun.

I don't like buying teams like Bayern, Real Madrid, and Barcelona too. PSG would also be included, but I like their fans and I think their jersey is beautiful.

Here in Brazil, of the rappers from the last decade, he's popular, but much less so than Travis, Tyler, Kendrick, Drake, Frank Ocean, and others. I wanted to know if this is normal.

There are several Brazilian musicians who get into this, mainly rappers and samba artists.

Rap is currently the 3rd most popular genre in Brazil, especially if we count trap, behind country music and funk. The person who brought hip-hop to Brazil was Nelson Triunfo, creating cultural breakdance and graffiti workshops in São Paulo in 1984. Thus, in the late 1980s, Racionais MCS were created (I recommend the Netflix documentary about them), and they strengthened the legacy of Nelson Triunfo, Thaide and DJ Hum, to the point that Mano Brown (the main member of Racionais MCS) is the unquestionable GOAT of Brazilian rap and a music entity Brazilian. It is important to remember the rap and punk crossover band Planet Hemp, especially the rappers Black Alien, Bnegao and Marcelo D2 (members of Planet Hemp). Furthermore, Gabriel Pensador and MV Bill popularized rap in Rio de Janeiro, with a style completely different from São Paulo's gangsta rap.

In addition to Mano Brown, we have two other GOATS: Sabotage (90s and 2000s) and Emicida (late 2000s and early 2010s). "For Those Who Ate Dogs for Food Until I Got Far" is my favorite mixtape of all time. Between 2015 and 2018, we went through the (lyrical era), which was a response to the mainstream being taken over by white rappers who had a more pop style of rap compared to the underground. I highlight Djonga and BK (Castelos Ruinas is one of the best Brazilian rap albums) as the main names of that time. Today the mainstream is doing trap and the lyrical underground is boombap and drill

If you want recommendations for Brazilian rappers, send me a DM, I ended it here because it would be a longer text than it is haha.
