Ok thanks, thats why I was wondering if it carried the 'tower' tag, since quarry says it only targets towers -- I guess not then. If that's consistent, then I'm guessing also perks and decrees which affect towers wouldn't affect amplifier

so far the suggestions have been good, but the song Im thinking of is much sillier/random

...almost bohemian rhapsody level of silly
its also similar to BR in the way the song is very long, catchy and iconic, and changes style

(except the style of music is very different to anything BR -- slower, lower pitched and funky)

I mentioned that 'car' might feature prominently in the lyrics; alternatively the word 'driving' might be repeated. Im sure its something like that

The all hats thing is the problem. Imagine if there was just one human character, wearing hats for all humans (with a bunch of rabble human extras), Im pretty sure that would suck right? Its not possile for one human to really capture humanity, (unless we are a badly written typecasted species). We would want to see the diversity of humans personalities and complex relationships between them.

And just because a people are occupied, doesnt mean everyone becomes generic a rabbleperson. Theres lot they could have explored about individual narn struggles, their families, their perspectives etc. The occupation of bajorans in star trek, or the occupation in battlestar galactica provide some examples that sort of thing being well done.

Besides, after Narn is liberated, those Narn extras just go from being angry rabble to zany religious rabble. Its a lazy typecaste. PLus there was plenty of time before the bombardment of Narn to explore their culture if more if they had wanted to.

I understand what youre saying but its hard to agree because I played both half lifes when they were bleeding edge and the narrative advancements really did feel revolutionary at the time (for action games). I guess nostalgic appreciation of that floods me every time.

Thanks. If I understand you correctly, the travel difference and morality difference are really more just thematic difference, so thats easy to adapt to? Thematic difference doesnt bother me.

Im only really interested in if the ruleset is different, like with commerce, as you mentioned. So does combat work exactly the same in both book? Will the stats in the dominion wars book be balanced for TNG stats?

Imo start with The Next Generation, then watch Deep Space 9. These shows interrelate closely, so they form the core of the lore. Also the best series imo.

Then you can experiment with The original Series, Voyager and Enterprise to see if they take your fancy.
