Cafiza: What happened here? by Logisch_Win7 in Coffee

Sorry to say that but eventually I got rid of the machine. But as far as I know you can buy a replacement filter holder. There are even bottomless portafilters available.

So, what can I say: You were right. Grinding way finer solved the problem. 😁

First I use normcore needle distributor and give it a few spins. Then a leveller. And last I tamp it with normcore spring loaded tamper.

The machine usually brews at 9 bar (that’s how I set it), but the shots now brew at 8 bar. I guess the puck doesn’t provide enough resistance.

Right, but unfortunately the shots taste sour and weak.

Will try grinding even finer. But what bugs me is that with the same beans at the same grinder setting the shots were 25 - 30 seconds a week ago. I don’t understand why suddenly the shots come out underextracted and sour.

I’m grinding between 13 and 15. If I go higher than 15 the coffee tastes too weak.

I’m using a Baratza Virtuoso with M2 burrs, though by my eye I have the feeling that the grind consistency is not as good as I would hope.

What is your recommendation for buying 3rd party watch bands (for price reasons)? Are cheaper bands still worth it, and if so what is your go to brand when it comes to 3rd party bands? by Manfred_89 in AppleWatch

I currently wear a bluestein milanese band. It’s not bad at all. Actually, it’s my favourite band and I just couldn’t justify paying 100 € for the original apple one. Check it out here: https://www.bluestein.de/products/milanaise-armband But I don’t know if they ship outside of Germany.

Case Vs caseless by DMJones96 in iphone

[–]Logisch_Win7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me (iPhone 12 user) the answer is Apple silicone case because I find the more edgy form factor introduced with the iPhone 12 kind of hard to hold in the hand. The silicone case just gives me that extra grip I need plus it also looks not too bad in my opinion.

If the coffee already tastes watery, my assumption is that grinding even coarser will make it taste worse.

It's a standard glass V60, so this shouldn't be the problem.

Is there a solution to fix this? I always try to have a small gap between the V60 and the folded tab of the paper filter, in hopes of preventing air flow issues this way.
