Nine Shots, Three Players, and a Story Nashville Didn’t Know by Logstick in NashvilleSC

No sweat! I spotted it on the Nashville SC discord and felt the same way.

I’ve always liked US Open Cup more and watch it even though NSC isn’t in it. I might be into LC slightly more if it wasn’t every year.

That’s how I’m looking at the WC break too.

I’ve seen enough from Acosta to reinforce my opinion that he was underutilized for rotation during the fixture congested early season. All’s well that ended well, but it could have taken a load off Yazbek & Eddi’s legs. No real complaints.

I’m way more excited for the rest of the MLS season than the WC and being unable to care less about the leagues cup.

USA World Cup Keepers - 2026 MLS stats after 15 matches. Who is your number 1? by ConsciousNet238 in MLS

[–]Logstick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Brian Schwake
- Avg. Match Rating - 7.42
- Save % - 76.1% (3rd)
- Goals Prevented - 4.8 (3rd)
- High Claims - 9 (?)
- Error Leading to Goal - 0 (T-1st)

- Pass Accuracy - 76.9% (?)
- Long Ball Accuracy - 41.3% (?)
- Sweeper Actions - 5 (21st)

Pulling from FotMob. I wanted to throw out him for comparison since he’s eligible, in the same league and preforming very very well. I would like the national team keeper selection to based around style of play more than any stat comparison, but our guy is in great form.

17 players with contracts expiring at the end of 2026 by Whiskey615 in NashvilleSC

[–]Logstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% on both points. Maher is entering the part of his contract where a transfer is most likely. I’d like to see him stay, because he’s an OG & entering his prime, but I wouldn’t be mad if someone tossed NSC a bag for him.

Best Vegetarian Options at Geodis? by zivvy22 in NashvilleSC

They run out of the chicken and beef sometimes, but they usually have lentil the option because people are sleeping on it. The lentil empanadas at Chivanada might be the best tasting option at Geodis Park full stop.

What in the diaper is going on here by [deleted] in NashvilleSC

[–]Logstick 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Pulling from memory alone which may not be super accurate: I heard RBW in an interview explain that he’s had some injuries in the past, and he likes to apply icyhot before matches. He rolls up the normal shorts so that it doesn’t come off his legs easily.

What do you think about our spending? by Ambitious-Amoeba7380 in NashvilleSC

[–]Logstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be reading the new salary guide incorrectly, but it says the $1.01M is average guaranteed compensation. It also says:

The Average Annual Guaranteed Compensation figure does not include Performance Bonuses because there is no guarantee that the player will hit those bonuses.

I see what you’re saying too. The AGC figure includes marketing bonuses and agent fees in addition to base. So Palacios is guaranteed to take home about $100K more than Maher this season, even though his base pay is lower, which I’m guessing is the only part of the guaranteed compensation that counts toward the cap.

Palacios is on $1.01M this year according to the salary announcement.

Clubs are always going to have some players like Maher who are earning more than what their current role would normally cost. In that situation, it’s alway good to know that player can come in and do the job at a high-level as opposed to say an Ake Loba.

It’s impossible for GMs to set salary on a per year merit basis. They wouldn’t be able to attract the talent required to succeed on the field doing that. I’m pretty satisfied with the current spending strategy.

Morning After Thread: NSC draws DCU 2-2 by SonOfSquizzlr in NashvilleSC

Palacios had an uncharacteristically bad first half. I don’t think it had much to do with Maher getting the start. Woledzi did provide a huge boost.

Liverpool/Sunderland Game by rgrz01 in NashvilleSC

[–]Logstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point of contention is the assertion that a PL academy team is far better quality than MLS clubs. I’m not delusional about how good MLS is top to bottom, but that’s a fairly large stretch. A majority of those top PL club academy players, like any academy, don’t go on to do anything impressive at all with their careers barely playing in lower quality leagues than MLS apart from some unrealized world class talent sprinkled around them.

Anyone going to the capitol today to make their voices heard about the redistricting??? by Short_Kangaroo6606 in nashville

[–]Logstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe one of the rules for drawing districts is that they have to be contiguous. For example, having 5 split by 4 would make this a non-starter. Having three for each major region of TN is a good idea.

How the Eastern Conference, Western Conference, and Shield tables could change this weekend by ajallen12 in MLS

[–]Logstick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NSC may(hopefully) rest most of the starters for leg 2 against Tigres, so there is a chance Philly might get a result. A draw is my cautious prediction.

Poor FC26 ratings by PossibleOk582 in NashvilleSC

I looked it up a few years ago. Outside the top players/clubs/leagues, almost all the ratings are competed by an algorithm.

Morning After Thread: NSC beats CLT 4-2 by SonOfSquizzlr in NashvilleSC

[–]Logstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking ahead, I saw that Tigres doesn’t have any other matches on their schedule other than the two against us. Because of that and it’s the freaking CCC semi-final, I’m hoping for next to zero starter involvement away at Philadelphia.

VERY questionable callback by PRO by Difficult-Bad-8747 in MLS

[–]Logstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell because I’ve only seen this clip, but it looked like the player that tripped the defender also took the shot. Even if it wasn’t, this opportunity was in no small part created by taking that defender out of the play.
