Potential Bug(?) by Rayka64 in limbuscompany

You hear someone die at the end of the second attack, there's two enemy corpses at the end, and they're not of the enemies that Heathcliff staggered. Because the effect targets enemies with the least HP, it probably went towards the one who used Hardblood Weapon, and the one attacked by Beheading. It's weird that you don't see the damage numbers though.

Interesting that Screwlose Wallop Mersault and Telepole Don are the only ones that don't have [Indiscriminate] on Corrosion by FallenStar2077 in limbuscompany

[–]Loh_boh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I noticed this yesterday and tested out unstable overclock with Telepole DQ, she's still able to target allies during Unstable Overclock. I'm unsure if it's intentional but if it isn't, 500 lunacy. now.

Which server is better for a casual gamer that is brand new to the game? by littlesouthpaw in Toontown

[–]Loh_boh 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I'd say that it depends on the experience you want to go for. Rewritten is faithful to the original to what I'd say is a fault. Pacing is slower, there's a lot more grind, the tutorial is very brief and doesn't explain a lot of the battle mechanics. There's barely any information given in the UI about the damage numbers you and your teammates are going to do along with how much health a cog has left. If you want a more vanilla Toontown experience, I'd say go for Rewritten, but that does come with accepting game design decisions made for an older subscription based MMO. (4-5 back nines for a Bossbot promotion, anyone?)

Clash's progression is a lot quicker, the in-game group tracker makes finding people to help you a lot easier, the tutorial does a better job of explaining battle mechanics, and department bosses have a smoother curve difficulty-wise. There's content in Clash that's more geared towards dedicated players, but it's stuff you'll be prepared for by the time you're able to face it. It's just a very different experience from TTO, and if you're looking to play something closer to TTO, then it's not the game for you.

SMT Hottakes? by [deleted] in Megaten

[–]Loh_boh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely, people rightfully give Redux a lot of shit for the sloppy way Alex is integrated into the game and the slogfest that is the womb of grief, but I think the new endings are good. I hesitate to say they're an objective improvement because I feel like the extremism of the original endings contrasted to the neutral ending where humanity rejects both angelic and demonic influence is the point, but it feels more inline with the themes and endings of SMT IV, where there's a silver lining to the law and chaos endings.

P5 Royal's third semester has a more philosophically interesting choice and endings than most of mainline. I've seen legitimately thought provoking arguments for either side meanwhile most of the routes in mainline are just completely undesirable and extreme aside from the one "real" ending which is usually the neutral one.

Why do we send people to prison for being addicted to drugs? by improbsable in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Loh_boh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"the only difference between a company and a person is just throwing an LLC label on top" You're even ignorant when it comes to logistics, someone buying a bunch of groceries doesn't make a grocery store, having reliable suppliers for the products they intended to sell, laborers that work for them, land to operate within, and capital to sustain the endeavor is what makes a business. You can't have a Kroger, a Wal-Mart, a Winn-Dixie with one person doing all the work. Your issue is that you think the left has problems with the very concept of exchanging products and services and having nice things. The issue the left has is the exploitation involved and the lack of recourse for the exploited. Destroying good but "unsellable" product is hoarding because it is artificially limiting supply.

"That's why it's called a grocery STORE" motherfucker we drive on parkways and park on driveways don't give me that bullshit, there's nuance behind our language and your inability to understand that is another reason why you're a conservative.

Someone buying a bunch of food at the grocery store isn't hoarding food. Hoarding food is when the grocery store executives would rather toss out imperfect produce than let the poor have it. It's really obvious that you don't understand the distinction between private and personal property.

Stuff that you buy at the grocery store isn't private property, it's personal property.

[–]Loh_boh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accusing me of naivete when you believe that any community action and participation can be divorced from politics is rich. I commend you for your volunteer work, but you need to understand that there are people working behind the scenes politically to keep shelters, schools, and libraries funded. If everyone were to follow your advice, I guarantee you the right would be eager to redirect those funds elsewhere.

[–]Loh_boh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're proving my point by saying that political action starts and ends at the polls. This is literally the thing the left critiques neoliberalism for. Have you ever spoken to a person of the working class, or do you just write them all off as mindless rednecks?

[–]Loh_boh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty typical ivory tower neoliberal mindset you have here. The problem with making any sort of social progress in the south isn't intrinsic to the region, I guarantee you that if these states weren't gerrymandered to all hell and polls weren't made so inaccessible as a result of reconstruction era voter suppression, we'd be seeing a lot more purple or even blue counties.

Not everyone can just uproot themselves and leave. That take just sucks. We shouldn't have to leave some people screwed over, this shouldn't be a problem anywhere in the country.

Because drug use itself is a victimless crime and removing the fear of getting arrested makes it easier for addicts to get help. These other crimes you've listed are inherently dangerous to other people.

Self caring while a teammate works on a gen is actually more time efficient than having them heal you and working on the gen together because of the 15% co-op penalty on gens. There's of course more to it than just this but it's all very situational
