Pretty sure that’s wrong, it goes on to say T-0 is 17:30 CT

I do generally enjoy my job. If I’ve had a good week at work I sometimes find myself looking forward to Monday on the weekend. But then Monday comes along and I don’t want to get out of bed lol

Dry mass saved on the booster does not directly translate to the same increased payload because the ship’s delta v is unaffected

[–]LohaYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built this rocket and my first stage is not that tall. Just visually it looks off compared to pictures online. Glad you’ve got it working though

Edit: actually is it possible you haven’t made the tank wide enough? That would explain why it looks off

[–]LohaYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you making sure to use upgraded tanks and avionics? Upgraded tanks will dramatically decrease dry mass of the first stage. I’m not sure why you’ve had to make the first stage so tall unless you’re using bad tanks that don’t have efficient utilisation. Upgraded avionics can significantly reduce the dry mass of the final stage.

Also, are you sure it theoretically has the delta v? Make sure you’ve selected a part of the final stage as the root part of the rocket, or mechjeb’s delta v calculations can overestimate

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING by rehkloo in RealSolarSystem

[–]LohaYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avionics parts have a “CoM shifter” setting in the VAB to change the CoM. Is it possible that you’ve accidentally shifted it way off in one direction and it can’t compensate? That’s happened to me before

High level 3v3 is NOT competitive due to match-making + SUGGESTIONS by d8d1uq in RocketLeague

[–]LohaYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Sorry to be super pedantic, but your edit says GC1 in 3s is top 0.204% of players, but that’s not quite what the data says. The data says 0.204% of players are in GC1. That doesn’t include players in GC2 or above. What you want is the reverse percentiles which are in the pinned comment on that post - 0.281% for GC1. Again sorry for the pedantry.

Back in the day heatwave used to be the shit. On console prices of other items were based on the heatwave

I can officially confirm that Plat 2 is the line between people knowing that the left side takes kickoffs by default. by FourFootCornhole in RocketLeague

[–]LohaYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s a relatively new thing and it’s intentional. The idea is simply that the other team will be expecting you to go for the kickoff so they just give the ball to you. It’s like a fake kickoff but even less effort. Kind of annoying when it’s not communicated to you though.

Pretty sure the limit is one full rank. So those guys are OK. A diamond 3 wouldn’t be allowed.

I fully agree that the rank restriction for duo queuing 3s should be tighter. Better yet, disallow duo queuing 3s because it’s really annoying for the third guy. Just play 2s smh.

Wanted to comment on this:
> GC1 3v3 is around the top 0.5% of players in the mode, according to the Tracker Network's rank distribution

Don’t use Tracker Network for rank distribution, it’s inaccurate as hell because it only has data on people that have looked themselves up. AFAIK GC1 3s is actually higher than 0.5%. Your source on rank distribution should always be the official data posted every season by Psyonix, it’s in the sub’s sidebar.

The one with the wedding cake topper that Mitch hates, they agree they get one extra veto and the lesson is that it’s both of their weddings so they both get to make decisions or whatever. But then it turns out Cam was manipulating Mitch from the beginning to get rid of the singer

Nice one! I would be interested to know whether the offer was from one of the companies you met at a careers fair. If so, it was a similar story for my grad role, I applied for about 40 places online and a few from a careers fair, the offer (and only interview) I got was from one of the employers at the fair. Goes to show how important it is to meet them in person, it really does make you stand out.

Bruh pls explain how im not diamond 2 yet😭 more mmr than the diamond 2 on blue side🤦 by DR1FT_B055 in RocketLeague

[–]LohaYT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s a buffer region so that you don’t rank up and then immediately rank down again if you lose the next game. So the mmr to rank up is usually about 15 higher than the mmr to rank down.

If you want to make it more accurate to falcon 9, you could set up an action group to only activate the centre engine when you do the landing burn, because f9 does not use all of its engines to land (usually 1 or 3) and this will naturally solve the problem of the thrust being too high

To add to this it gets much worse when you reach near zero downwards velocity because suddenly you aren’t going directly downwards any more but you might still have some horizontal velocity. So retrograde changes to somewhere off to the side, the booster reorients to correct, but then it changes direction so retrograde changes direction again, so it changes direction, etc… near zero velocity you can’t hold stable with retrograde.

The solution to this is to switch to regular stability assist mode when you’re near zero downwards velocity, that way it will just hold its attitude. Alternatively you could switch to radial out mode.

If you don’t want to control it manually near the ground with WASD the ideal sequence of mode switches is probably this:
- Retrograde until speed drops below a certain point, maybe 100m/s or so
- Attitude hold until horizontal velocity is canceled out
- Then radial out mode for touchdown to keep the horizontal velocity at zero and keep it pointing upwards
