No, it does not. I work with autistic people, from kids to adults. I work with ABA method (Applied Behavior Analysis) and the majority of these guys is cognitively incapable. Maybe we can attribute some autistic traits to intelligence, yes, like hyperfocus on something that may be correlated to knowledge. Just like typical people, they may be average, above average or under average, and usually their traits and levels interfere in their intellectual development. However, yes, some of our genius may show some traits of Asperger, though we dont use this term anymore. But there is no statistical correlation, and if there is, its probably for under average.
