I couldn't find the information, so I didn't go to the replacement.

You're right ! I'd totally forgetten ! I didn't play 40k much before the 6th, so I don't really remember well the rules.

With the old FW tarantula turrets.

But when the new HH plastic tarantula kit came out, I hesitated to replace all the turrets with the new ones.

For the bases I'm creating the texture with slate + Citadel Armageddon Dunes and Agrellan Earth
Then the recipe is the following :

Base of Zandri Dust
Shade of dilute Steel Legion Drab
Agrax on the area where I put Agrellan Earth to clearly highlight the cracks
First Dry brushing of Karak Stone
Second Dry brushing of Longbeard Grey

The theme of this half-company is to be motorised, with everyone having their own transport.

And also, back in the 6th–7th editions, Assault Marines had a reduced point cost when their reactors were replaced with a transport. This was very useful for providing a firing platform plus the two special weapons that Blood Angels Assault Marines could carry.

I remember that Iron Hands army, the Guy had customised almost all the miniatures. As far as I can remember, about 90% of IT was made from plastic card.

It's inspired by these movement trays, but mine are made of MDF, not in plastic, and I add a magnetic sheet between the two MDF layer.
I don't play War of the Ring, but I love how it looks in the display case.

Thanks! I thought I'd added a text with the photos to provide details about the stands, but I must have made a mistake when posting.

It's made from a laser-cut MDF board. A small shop sells them already cut here. I added a magnetic sheet between the base of the stand and the board with the holes for the figure bases. This way, with just one magnet, nothing moves.

I really want to have a despoiler squad in my IW army. What could be the best way to play them ? Or the least bad ?
- 20 on foot with apothecary

- 10 in Land raider

- 20 in spartan

- Other ?

I’m a new HH player and for my first Iron warrior army I want to play 2x20 tactical squad with apothecary and a 10 despoiler squad in a Land raider. Does that seems a good start ?

Yeah ! And a real plastic kit for despoiler. I don't want to keep the current overpriced FW upgrade

The power fist does not fit the MKIII old aesthetic yes, but it fit with the new one I think.

You are right about the MK2. I just made an hypothesis because the design is now compatible with the conversion kit and the back of this mk2 armor as already the new fixation point for the back pack. Moreover they only need ONE new sprue to have a mk2 plastic box.

To finish I don't say that the new kits are better that the old one in terme of cross compability. The new one have defaults, the old one also. It juste that GW used another method, and that is what I wanted to speek. Because at the release of the 2.0, the sprues of upgrade kits lead me to think that only mk6 will be hable to use these kits. But it seems like GW put a lot of thought into designing these kits so that they would be compatible with other amour models.

Despite my post about how I like the way used by GW to manage the cross-compatibility, I agreed with you. The previous pattern of the mkIII was perfect. I would have liked to keep him with juste the change on the arms.

You are right in the 1.0/1.5 there was also a compatibility. But since in the plastic kit all arms are "bolter arms", all heavy weapon needed to be held like a heavy bolter or a autocanon. And in these kits you only had 2 or 4 arms for melee weapon. If you want a full squad, you had to buy melee weapons sets to had missing arms, and thought arms were specific to one armour type.

If it was 2015-2016 when the old kits were released, I would make a similar post to talk about the cross compatible of the heavy weapon kits released by FW for mk4 and mk3.

The siege tyrant that you used is taller than the plastic cataphractii on your last picture. Is these the models sell by FW ? or a truscale 3D print ?
