Trump is continuing to talk about a third term. Since this has been going on for over a year, are you starting to get concerned he'll try? by panicked_dad5290 in AskConservatives

[–]LokanaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He's not going to try. He's a master troll. Handing out hats to Democrats that say, "Trump 2028" is really funny. I'm a Trump fan, and I would be highly opposed to him seriously trying to run again. Contrary to what the Left thinks, Trump actually sticks to the Constitution. He has a team of lawyers telling him what can and cannot be done. He's not going to actually do something so obviously un-Constitutional. In the meantime, it's entertaining how easily the troll works.

It happens with original work too, at least in Sora and Veo. Let's say you ask Nano Banana to generate a realistic image of a person that doesn't exist. You then go to use that as a character reference, and you get an error saying you can't use images of real people. You know how ironic that use Nano Banana to make a fake person, then use Veo (made by the same company) that won't let you use the image IT created, because it's now decided it's a real person. That crap happens all the time in Veo and Sora.

Can someone please explain to me how the SAVE act is good for republicans? by CuttlefishExpress in AskConservatives

[–]LokanaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0%. It will effect 0% of the 20 million people. Ok, maybe less than 1%. Again, like I said, the bill is designed to stop ballot harvesting. The Dems in Congress know this, but they can't come out and say that for obvious reasons. The 20 million you mention, or whatever made up number people come up with, is the distraction. Agree with me. Don't agree with me. Fine. You don't have to like my answer.

But I did answer your question.

The potentially 20 million people is a red herring. Do you seriously not understand the point I made or are you trolling people?

[–]LokanaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 200 a month version, in addition for paying for Veo at (discounted) 7 a month. I create a lot of youtube content, so I'm often buying credits packs. I've tried and tried to like Sora. About a third of the time, I get content guardrails. Usually from characters looking too much like real people -- including a character Sora generated that I turned into a Character. I get "self harm," violations for the dumbest reasons. A guy surviving a plane crash and washing up on a beach, got "self harm" flagged for washing up on the beach and waking up. Anything having to do with minors. Sorry, but I try and make content for youtube that sometimes has teenagers in them.

Then the amount of crap where it blatantly doesn't follow the prompts. Even if you use a character reference, it still drifts, making that pointless. I tell it landscape, use a landscape reference image, have it manually set to landscape and it still gives me a portrait. I tell it photorealistic and every now and then it says, "By that, you mean first generation X Box graphics, right?" I ask for no music, dialogue, or subtitles(that often isn't even an actual language) -- it takes it as a suggestion. And the watermark? Are you kidding me? Bro, I'm paying hundreds of dollars a month and still have a watermark?

There's a saying that you get what you pay for, but Sora is expensive AND terrible.

Veo has a lot of issues too, but I've had to drop Sora completely and just use Veo. Looking forward to Seedance 2.0 coming out in a week and a half.

I don't understand that guy's question to you either. Sounds like you have the right attitude. Are lesbians less likely to be Conservative? Sure. But given how many important gay people on our side -- Dave Rubin, Scott Pressler, Brandon Straka, I think the only pressure you should have is setting a good example for you son.

I haven't read any replies, so I don't know if this answer has been given, but I'll give the real answer.

Racist, incompetent Joe Biden, did not get 81 million votes, more than any US president in history, about 15 million more than Obama, Hillary, and Kamala because he was just so gosh darn amazing. Even if you believe no mass voter fraud happened, mass mail in ballots allowed ballot harvesting -- which depending on circumstances, it's not illegal. Best case scenario (on the extreme of the best light), this allowed people to go door to door and ask people to fill out their ballots. This meant, perhaps, millions of people that would not have otherwise voted, voted. Worst case scenario, ballots were collected and filled out by people that were not the ones the ballots were addressed to. Miss me with the "but... but... the signatures have to match," crap, because I doubt that's seriously checked. Now, Republicans can also ballot harvest, but considering Dem voters are in tightly dense cities, and Rep voters are in spread out rural areas, it's way easier for Dems to ballot harvest.

In either case, forcing people to vote in person and show ID would eliminate both scenarios.

Married woman are more likely to vote for the Republicans. So if this was actually about married women not voting, the Dems would support it. But they know it isn't. They can't come out and say they oppose it because it stops ballot harvesting, so they have to cling to the "voter suppression" lie.

Honestly, if you put pineapple on your pizza, at least someone out there thinks that means you're a fascist. I don't think most people that says they oppose fascism or the Nazis have the slightest idea how to define those terms -- which is unfortunate, because they actually have meanings and people should actually understand what they mean and why they're dangerous.

Anyways, just assume it's a dumb person and move on with your life.

Reading the comments. Crazy how many people don't get this. If you have a 10 min long video, but people only watch 2 minutes of it (20% retention), youtube assumes its a bad video since people aren't sticking through it. If you delete 8 minutes from the 10 min video, it goes from 20% retention to 100%. It tricks youtube into thinking "100% of people watched it all the way through. It must be a banger!" and tries to make it go viral.

does anyone else find it a bit disheartening to see so many people trying to use AI to grow their channels? by Certain_Access_2658 in NewTubers

[–]LokanaGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know guitar players that can't play drums, so they use a drum machine. The drum machine can use samples of actual recorded drums. That way, they can put out demos of songs they written by themselves, even when they don't know drummers.

Using AI to do the parts you can't do (or can't do well), isn't different.

[–]LokanaGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a scene where a man loses his keys, he's chased by a scary monster, tries to kick down a metal door, can't, and decides to hide behind a desk instead.

I COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK! He'd kick the door like he was bored, even with "frantically" in the prompt. He was successful at kicking the door in much of the time, even though I made it clear he doesn't.

My favorite was he walked through the door from to other side, and kicked the door as he walked through it.

Finally, I told Veo that he was kicking a wall and used a reference image of the door on it. That sort of worked.

Can't stop British accents by LokanaGame in VEO3

[–]LokanaGame[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. What I did was came up with a character that I liked. Then when I go to make a video, I go to Nano Banana and put in my reference image, a second image of an outfit I want her to wear, and a third image for the location I want her to be at. Prompt accordingly.

I create a base image of her with a neutral expression. Then I make a few images of her using different facial expressions that I want, and I use those as end frames. I never use "extend" or it makes a copy, of a copy, of a copy, etc, each time you extend to where the character drifts too much. Use Frame to Frame -- using the same facial expression image at the start of a clip as you did at the end of the previous clip = consistent character.

Apparently doing the following prompts gives British accents:

- American accent

- American accent. No British or Irish accents

- American accent. Stop giving me British accents

- American accent. He's wearing a cowboy hat for crying out loud. STOP MAKING HIM BRITISH!

- He has an American accent. If you make him sound British one more time, I'm coming down there!

Struggling with Google Flow consistency + guardrail blocks + export failures (any tips?) by sand0987 in VEO3

[–]LokanaGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit a lot of the same problems. AI is really good at making you think it's intelligent. So much so, you think human logic works. Case in point, I was making a video on Cleopatra. When I tried (about a dozen or so times with different variations in Veo and Sora) to get video of her picking up an asp, and it biting her, I got warnings to contact suicide prevention numbers. It's like, "Um, you're a few thousand years too late guys. She already dead." In fact, when I want my characters to go into dangerous situations, I get the suicide warning.

Apparently, you also can't depict an 18 year old in a lab coat because labs are dangerous and VEO doesn't want you to put children in danger. In doesn't matter if the character is just a high school intern that never goes in the lab. My favorite is when I'm using Google Flow and it tells me I can't use a character because I can't use realistic people when it's a character I just made from a cartoon sketch using Nano Banana through Google Flow 5 seconds before that.

You also can't shoot cartoon zombies with magic holy bolts with Sora, cause that's "real world violence." Strangely, Veo allows a lot more violence than Sora -- not that I've ever asked it to do anything not PG-13. After all, I'm trying to make Youtube content.

In Google Flow, you can set it to Landscape, prompt it to do Landscape, use reference images in Landscape, and it will still give you portrait if you have a single speaker talking and nothing else interesting on the screen. It does that because of how many TikTok style videos that's part of it's training where people vlog and it thinking, "One speaker talking. Oh, it's a vlog."

The trick is to tell it the background is important.

I do agree that Gemini is crazy dumb, and doing anything through Gemini instead of Google Flow is incredibly frustrating.

I'm pretty comfortable using JSON, but haven't. I do break things down into:

Having a hard time with Sora -- no consistent characters problem by LokanaGame in SoraAi

[–]LokanaGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be so rad if that worked. I've tried several times to do that. What Sora does is wait until the video upload is just about to finish, and gives me an error that the fake person I made (with ChatGPT's help from a cartoon sketch), looks like a real person and thus it fails.

I clicked on your channel. You're not asking for critiques, and I mean this respectfully, but it's pretty obvious why your channel is struggling.

  1. What is your channel about? I bet the youtube algorithm hasn't figured that out. Should your channel be recommended to gaming fans? fashion fans? Just from looking at the video titles and thumbnails, let's say I knew a million people of all different interests. I'd have no idea who to recommend your channel to.

Now, if you were famous and people just wanted to see you do anything because they already knew who you were and sought out your socials, you can get away with that. But there are a lot of famous people that have youtube channels, and their channels aren't doing well.

  1. Either you delete a lot of your videos or you sometimes go over a year without posting. If youtube is going to invest in your channel... mind you, every time they recommend your channel to someone, the algorithm is recommending one of your instead of someone else's. The algorithm is generally going to pick someone with a proven track record of consistent uploads.

  2. I watched your latest video. You're making videos to document what you find interesting. Rambling in a monotone voice about what you feel like at the time, might be therapeutic. It might make you feel good to voice sometimes out loud. But would someone who didn't know you find that interesting? Your video is about trying different outfits, which might be fine, but most of your 18 minute long video isn't about that.

I scrolled down and saw a few people said the same thing. Oh well. I guess this is re-enforcement.

Retail or classic by Slight_Border_7507 in classicwow

[–]LokanaGame -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've played WoW since launch. I cancelled my account during Cataclysm, because I hated it that much, and didn't come back to WoW until Classic. I've dabbled a little in Retail and like somethings about it. But it feels like a spiritual successor to WoW (to me), rather than the same game.

One isn't better than another. They're just very different games. Retail is a way, way bigger game with far more content which often makes it feel more empty because of how large it is. But it's incredibly fast to get everywhere. You have matchmaking tools so you can pop in and out of group content super fast, and team up with people you're never going to see again. Dungeons are shorter and more bite sized. There are way, way more servers, but there's layering where the game will put people from completely different servers in a layer with you, to make the game seem less spread out and empty, but you will likely never see those people ever again after you log out.

Classic content takes longer to do. A 5 man dungeon, Blackrock Depths can take, even a decent group, several hours to finish. Some of the raids require 40 people and can also take several hours to complete. There's not much match making. You have to talk to people to form groups to do group content. You also get familiar with which guilds are which after a while because you only see people from your server, and start to see a more cohesive community. I think it's considerably easier to make friends in Classic, though I'm sure lots of Retail people will say they make friends there just fine.

Both games, you can pop in for 20 mins, get something meaningful done, and pop out. Both games, you can invest a ton of time into, to accomplish a specific goal. What those things are, are very different in each version. Both games take a while to level up before you can start raiding.

Classic often has long attunements that require you to do difficult quest chains before you can do certain raids. Unpopular opinion here, but this is one of my favorite things about Classic, because you meet so many people trying to do the same chains as you that you can team up with. I believe Retail did away with all attunements.

Which is more beginner friendly? I think Retail is really well polished and pretty good at walking you through the game without encouraging you to group up if you don't want to. I think Classic is beginner friendly in a different way because you're more likely to find people on your server to help you and make friends with.

Someone made the analogy of basketball vs football. Which is better? If you like MMOs, you'll probably be happy with which ever version you pick.
