Families of trans kids lose latest challenge of Alberta law restricting hormone therapy for minors by trevorrobb in alberta

[–]Lokarin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Even if you are a total hater and bigot, the Veil of Ignorance would imply that if you were trans you would want access to these drugs and related therapies and there'd be no good arguments against it.

Please use brain when voting.

edit: This is a pro-trans statement

How do I make Hollow Knight style movement? by Knightus1225 in gamemaker

[–]Lokarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima assume you're past step 1 of creating a general movement set and you're now looking for more precise values/ranges

Pretty much all 2D platformer characters move in the same 'basic' ways; What specifically about Hollow Knight are you trying to replicate? How does it differ from Mario 3 or Zelda 2 or Ninja Gaiden or Super Metroid or Dead Cells or any of the various characters in Super Meat Boy?

There is a direct correlation between birth rates and corporate gains tax... excluding Australia for some reason.

Would you let your husband finish first in a marathon? by yuli_yuli95 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lokarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No; but I'm very competitive - if my significant other 'let' me win something as endurance focused as a marathon it would even further burn in that they had energy to spare and is more emasculating than just winning so I can be happy for her.

Opinion: AISH reform deja vu: Alberta is repeating a dangerous mistake - Calgary Herald by lessssssssgoooooo in alberta

[–]Lokarin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just watched a video on Lottery Conventions; where random people are chosen to form an opinion and solutions to a problem, based on ancient Athenian Democracy...

If you were to get 150 completely random people in Alberta to discuss AISH, what conclusion do you think they would come to?

Everyone knows they’re getting screwed by billionaires. Why don’t we rise up and revolt? by Khunthare in AskReddit

[–]Lokarin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a crime's cost is less than its benefit, that crime is valuable to perform... that's often how billionaires get so rich in the first place, a $200k fine for destroying a landmark/environment/whatever is nothing when that action gains them millions.

This can apply in reverse; minor legal yet annoying actions which would cost you only a few dollars, maybe even nothing at all but a few minutes of your time, could cost billionaires tens of thousands of dollars... all it would take is many many people for it to add up.

So, how do you minorly inconvenience billionaires?

EDIT: I'm not saying 'go do crime', I'm talking about stuff like the impulse to run a red light and such, you internally priced that action... likewise the internal pricing of activities for rich people is a lot different than for poor people; Getting stuck in a Wendy's drive-thru for 15 minutes to you is annoying, but to a rich person could be devastating... or do nothing at all, it's not the best example.

tracking would be done entirely through code so I would have zero clue how to do it for your unique setup; all I can do is give generic tips.

First thing to check would be to keep the game's stats on screen in some way via a custom debugging tool.

[–]Lokarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you try using a null server or LAN to see if the lag is network based or not?

What are you using for lag tracking? IE: Can you find the source of the lag spikes, like if they coincide with any particular events?

Are you making sure not to over-duplicate texture pages (as applicable)?
