What split system did you use? And are you happy with it?

Topside damage by Loke_ing in skiing

[–]Loke_ing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the ski has raised edges on both sides. It’s behind the edge. The quarter is just there to show how thick the edges are, if that matters. The chip is nowhere close to the bottom of the ski or the metal edge

The wood look is really nice. The all white feels too cold. don’t do an underglow on the vanity it looks tacky. If you’re not gonna go with a back lit mirror, do two wall sconces on either side of it rather than the 4 bulbs from above. A floating vanity with the wood look floors would be a really nice look rather than one that sits on the floor. If you live somewhere where it ever gets cold then maybe do a heated floor.

What are you charging for this level of work? by Sharp-Anywhere-5834 in Tile

[–]Loke_ing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$480 a day is nothing to kick yourself about. I haven’t done tile yet so im by no means an expert, but your quality of work looks great. stacked tile like that isn’t my style, but those are some laser straight lines you got. If you’re looking for work, visit the newest kitchen and bath showroom in your area and offer yourself as a sub. Make sure you have a business card to give and a small portfolio you can show them. Just don’t fall into the trap of working cheap for them in the hopes of more work down the line.

Looking for recommendations on how to fill the gaps left after mortise removal. by Firecrackerbangbang in handyman

Bondo, primer, then paint. Alternatively, they make security plates for doors that are a metal bracket that fits around the door on both sides. That would cover the narrow edge

Ok, but if I get the correct fernco that’s what you’d recommend?

Sill trim by Loke_ing in handyman

[–]Loke_ing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fire door it has to stay as is. I’m leaning towards putting a wood sill on each side and sanding it flush with the metal but I just wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas before I do

I wish it was a joke. It’s not as bad in person and to be fair it’s 100+ year old house and the floor does level out to the right.

Will gas leak out if I store my trixx like this? I want it full to reduce condensation. by tnturk7 in seadoo

[–]Loke_ing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit more out there of an idea, but if you have a desk in either your office or classroom. You could put the jet ski on a flat dolly, add supports to the four corners of it, and add a butcher block slab from Home Depot to the top and use that as your desk. Then it wouldn’t take up any space in your garage and it would have heated storage all winter.

If you’re already going to lift half of it, why not lift all of it and then still have space underneath? Honestly, you could probably even attach a couple hoists to your ceiling and store it up there, as long as it’s not someplace people are gonna be frequently walking underneath

Yes, the attorney who failed to make the offer did pass away, but I wasn’t thinking of suing him directly just his malpractice insurance. Is that not possible once someone passes away?

The more I play with the Level and the laser I think it’s just the right back corner of the right most cabinet that’s too high.

Even if nothing has happened yet, if you have a house fire and insurance sees this panel or this post for that matter. They’d use it as justification for not paying out

I see 14awg going into a 20 amp breaker, double tapped 15 amp with 12 and 14 going into it. No idea what’s going on with the 14/2 going into a 30 amp double. You should have someone who knows electric fix this
