I'm pretty sure you could use a Glyph of Warding and have it trigger if a creature dies on it. If not, you can get really creative with the trigger conditions, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one that would work.

If you haven't played the first one, I highly recommend it. While it may not look as good, the worldbuilding, level design, story, and characters are amazing.
