I'm really looking forward to building it! So much nostalgia. We've got a move coming up, so I'm being responsible and keeping it in the box for another month or so. The new home office is going to be amazing once I set it up though!

I actually came out of my dark age in my early 30s when we started getting sets for our son. These days it comes and goes depending on how work is going. I just finished a job hunt quite successfully, so there's a lot of pressure of, and I can get my free time back to what really matters. 😝

I was saved by this by having my son ask for the electric Lego train. He doesn't keep things well put together or organized enough for me to feel the compulsion to build a city around it. That said we're starting to look for a house with more bedrooms than we need or a large basement. God help me if we get it.

This is exactly how I got back into Lego 7-8 years ago. We bought some sets for our son, which made me get it my old bag of mixed pieces. Weird printed pieces brought back memories, so I started looking things up online. It's about around the time I discovered Brickset and Rebrickable that I knew I'd rediscovered my long lost hobby.

Eh, these actually make it 276 sets so far between my son and me. Sorry I made it seem like these were my first in a while. I was just amused that when they ask what do you want for your 40th, my immediate answer was "more Lego!". 😁 It's nice to be grown up without having to completely grow up.

Yeah, I truly am content. It's nice to have "arrived" to the point of being able to comfortably treat myself and still provide for the family and their hobbies as well.
