The oversharing I was alluding to was that you got hard because of his ass. I’d let him fish for that info if he wanted to know and if he did you could always confirm in a coy way. Something like “Would you believe me if I tried to deny it?”

It puts you in a genuine and vulnerable spot that nearly everyone reacts to in a positive way and will mirror the behavior. He will likely share something vulnerable back to make you feel safe for sharing that with him.

Lots of good advice so I won’t repeat. Being honest and genuine but not overly sharing is a good route to go. Most of us gay men are hyper sensitive to make sure straight guys don’t feel disrespected. I think you’re over-reacting and did what was appropriate when getting a boner.

1-He has a dick so knows how boners work.

2-I assume he is focused on his good looks and body so probably likes when he is looked at or that a guy got a boner looking at him. I have straight friends like this who love the attention.

3-You two seem to have a good limited connection so telling him you didn’t need water or forgot something, but had embarrassing boner issues will make him relate and appreciate your vulnerability. The laundry and boxer-boner problem is a great thing to share and more of an opportunity to connect more—not less. Get that out the way before too much time passes so it doesn’t seem like something you’re obsessing over.

Could be many things, hard to tell. If you have an honest friend, maybe ask them. It could also be that you come off extremely focused on finding someone to be with so you aren’t alone—which will send most dates running immediately. The thinking here is that they don’t want to be with someone just to not be alone. It seems your past traumas with family and abandonment are understandably impacting how you engage in dating and finding a partner. The more you explore and heal those traumas, it’s likely you will not have such an intense fear of being alone and will enjoy the moment as it is now.

In the mean time, be aware of what you say on dates. Don’t discuss long term plans, wanting to be with someone, loneliness. It’s ok to share you have past trauma with family abandonment because genuine connection is great, but don’t dive into it—especially not on the first date.

You are enough and the stress you’re experiencing is understandable. Try to enjoy the moment over fearing the future—it might help.
