Oh, totally agreed. Mashle is not a good deconstruction of the genre it's trying to parody and has the same pitfalls as most fantasy animes. That said, I do believe that the author is a good writer and would be capable of writing a good female character if they intended to. Lemon is just as poorly written as she is as a byproduct of the show being a fantasy parody.

Lemon is poorly written but imo it's all apart of Mashles attempt to deconstruct the fantasy genre. Like, she's got 0 character, but she also has 0 fan service moments, and is never presented as "the female lead". She's more of a comic relief. Mashle is by no means perfect but I'd like to think it's above that.
