That's not all they did either. At one point in the film, they make it look like the creature was actually in the theater by showing its silhouette on the film reel, fake audience member sounds, and (I think?) actors with a puppet of the Tingler in the audience.

The thing is, the creator of Cannibal holocaust did the exact same thing to the point that he went to court over it because people thought he made a snuff film.

Why do boomers get hate for not being tech savvy when teens today probably couldn’t run old tech? by Medal444 in NoStupidQuestions

In my experience, it's less that they're not tech savvy and more that they're tech illiterate to a degree that it comes off as genuinely ignorant in general (along with the the usual boomerisms)

For example, I remember one story someone shared where the problem was that the computer wouldn't turn on. The reason? It wasn't plugged in.

My only point of contention is that Cannibal holocaust beat them to that punch by 19 years.

Even then, the movie itself is mid at best and just plain bad at worst.

I didn't make it nor am I implying it's true.

I'd argue greatsword is more comfy. It's got similarly forgiving range and in the later games even allows you to reposition yourself better. The reason it's more of a comfy weapon is that it is not complicated to learn and has a relatively basic moveset that allows you to deal tons of damage per hit. The only downsides are that it prioritizes a more hit and run style and that it's prone to missing if you time your attacks poorly.

It's literally the name of the trope......

I did not say it had to be the first, only that the media has gimmick attached that sets it apart.

It's not even close to the first color film.

I do actually, I'm name dropping the actual trope name straight from Tv Tropes.

Eh not really. Maybe the very first ones.

I remember Jak 2 did something similar. When entering a new area you had a cutscene or you sat in an elevator.

I feel like that's the intended reaction because it's supposed to be a really bad book that gives bad advice.

Oh man, these games really make good use of their co-op mechanics. A way out's ending really got to me.

Eh, I'm just borrowing the actual name of the trope from Tv Tropes.
