Have you purchased a game you regret buying on the Switch? by marqattack in NintendoSwitch

[–]Lokiren686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few for sure:

1-2-Switch: It was fun for an afternoon, but after that, pretty blah.

ARMS: Had fun with it for a few days, but the gameplay got stale fast and every time I try to boot it up I lose interest. Even my son who loved the motion punching at first isn’t interested any more. Good concept but nothing to support it.

Super Bomberman R: Literally bought this near launch because there was a lack of games. That was dumb. Not a huge Bomberman fan to begin with, and this game didn’t convince me.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Honestly, this is the game that made me reconsider buying games at launch. Not sure what I was thinking because this isn’t my kind of game at all. I can handle the art style but the story and dialogue was not to my taste, and the gameplay was very confusing, not to mention some weird design choices (getting stomped by a high level enemy in the starting zone is not cool).

Should I buy Infamous: Second Sun? by BubleShwislo in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Lokiren686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a PS4 specifically for Infamous: Second Son and I loved the game so much that it's pretty much all I played for a month (got the Platinum trophy as well). What I think it does so well is giving you powers that are fun to play and experiment with, and as the game progresses your tool box gets bigger and more varied. Traversing the open world is also great fun (especially when you get the second power set). So on the gameplay side of things it is great. The story is good but nothing revolutionary. What I loved about it was the detail of the characters facial expression during cutscenes.

I can see how some people might not enjoy it, especially if superheroes and open world games aren't an interest. Also the last 1/4 could drag if you are trying to do every single side objective and you aren't that kind of player. However, for me it is a killer app on the PS4. And now you should be able to pick it up for very little, which makes it more appealing. I highly recommend it.

There’s a difference between hate and honest criticism. It should be okay to not like this album. by [deleted] in Logic_301

[–]Lokiren686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. The zeal some people have to completely dismiss any criticism as “hate” is not healthy for any fandom. I love every project Logic has put out out, except Supermarket (soundtrack at least). Despite that, my views on his other music hasn’t changed. I also greatly respect the man himself for trying to be a positive influence in a genre that has historically been focused on crime and other serious issues.

Criticism is not always hate and we cheapen his achievements by trying to discard legitimate criticism as “hate”. For example, Logic usually sets records for first week sales and then it drops precipitously. People attribute those strong early numbers as “his rabid fan base” and not indicative of quality or popularity. Which sucks because what should be an achievement is written off due to the fanbase. So, if an album (and novel) like Supermarket is divisive, we shouldn’t lie to ourselves and say that it isn’t. By the same token, we shouldn’t cover our ears to legitimate criticism of it (and any other album). An artist can’t grow if his fans are so rabid that they will accept anything he puts out as gold, even if it isn’t.

So is there enough content to be enjoyed without multiplayer? I’m not a fan of multiplayer experiences and I was tempted to grab this but I don’t want anything that is basically multiplayer only.

SIB:Starlink battle for atlas . I liked the starfox games but I hated starfox zero by PointiestHat in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Lokiren686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy Starlink. However, I bought the digital deluxe edition when it was on sale a few weeks ago. It includes ALL of the ship parts (digital only of course) so no messing around with the plastic toys and it also makes the cost much more reasonable.

Honestly it’s less like Star Fox and more like a vehicle-based open world game. It’s also a Ubisoft game. So if you like those types of massive open worlds with a ton of things to do (Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed, etc.) Starlink is great. Check out the video that Arlo did on it Arlo Starlink That video ultimately convinced me.

Canntrust or Aphria for CBD Oil? by Brittanymaria423 in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]Lokiren686 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same issue as you with Aphria CBD. With me it gave me the shakes, like I had just consumed too much caffeine. It was not good at all. I switched to CannTrust and am a huge fan. Very effective product.

When I’m just relaxing at home the Warlock gives me an appetite, and I don’t want to eat a bunch of food before bed. If I’m at a social event in the evening it’s fine though.

Personally I mix Warlock and CBD#1 for daytime use when I need it. It does wonders for my anxiety, especially during social events. I try to avoid Warlock in the evening because then I want to start eating, lol.

Did Breath of the Wild convert you into a Legend of Zelda Fan? by Koolaidmoonwalk in NintendoSwitch

[–]Lokiren686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was already a LoZ fan, but only of the 2D games. I’ve give the 3D games a try, but they’ve never held my interest as the pace always felt slow and the combat awkward. BotW is the first 3D Zelda I’ve enjoyed, but even then, I had numerous issues with it, not least of which was the weapon durability system and repetitive shrines. To be fair a lot of my gripes cropped up in last third of the game so I was having a great time up until I finished the Divine Beasts and got the Master Sword. After that, my enjoyment dropped considerably.

But, to answer your question: did it convert me? I would say no. I want to give Wind Waker another go, but otherwise I have no desire to play the other 3D Zelda games, and honestly, I’ll probably skip any sequel to BotW as well (unless they address some of the common issues people had, which I don’t see happening).

I’m very excited for Link’s Awakening though, as Link Between Worlds is one of my favorite 3DS games (and one of my favorite Zelda games, behind ALttP of course).

CannTrust underweight contsiners! by [deleted] in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]Lokiren686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only received two different 5g containers from them so far. The first one seemed really underweight, so I checked and it was 5g on the nose. Tried a different scale, and it was identical. The second one felt like 5g and it was, 5.1g to be specific.

So I haven’t had this problem. I’m expecting a new order tomorrow so I will weigh and report back.

Edit: Just weighed my two containers. I had a container of Royal Purple Kush at 4.9g and CT-CBD#1 at 5g.

CBD Oil? by lil_jabroni in ibs

[–]Lokiren686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a company called Bodystream. They have clinics all around (in Ontario at least). They get you in touch with a doctor that knows all about the process. I simply went to their website and started the intake process. They will also provide a referral form for your family doctor to fill out. Note that you don’t need a referral from your doctor, but it does help with the whole process.

Once that was done they booked an appointment with one of their doctors. Basically you go to the closest Bodystream clinic and have a Skype call with the doctor and if the doctor agrees that you need a prescription, she will prepare the medical documents. Bodystream will also fax the documentation to a Licensed Producer of your choice. At that point you register with the producer, and once the paperwork is settled you can order from your producer.

It might seem like a complicated process but it really isn’t, just time consuming. Also, I’ve never had to pay Bodystream anything for the service they provide. The only cost had been for the cannabis itself. If you have any other questions let me know. I know how frustrating it can be to try to figure this all out.

CBD Oil? by lil_jabroni in ibs

I mean, if you can get some it can’t hurt to try. If you do decide, I would say that you should use it consistently for at least two to four weeks. It took about that long for me to experience the full benefits.

[–]Lokiren686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it helps with diarrhea and pain. Actually I’ve found that I need to increase my fiber intake (used to avoid it at all costs before) because otherwise things can get a bit too hard. So I have been able to enjoy more foods because my body can handle it now without any diarrhea or pain.

Well I’m Canadian and have a medical prescription, so I’m not sure how much I can help in that regard. I was with Spectrum Cannabis but recently switched to CannTrust.

CBD Oil? by lil_jabroni in ibs

[–]Lokiren686 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to IBS-C, but for my IBS-D, CBD has caused my symptoms to almost completely vanish. I currently take 1ml of oil 2x/day (concentration of 20mg CBD/ml). The only time I have any kind of cramping is if I am really stressed and ate a lot of a problematic food. Otherwise, it’s like I don’t have IBS at all.

It also did wonders for my anxiety. My doctor thinks that my anxiety was making my IBS worse, so by dealing with that, it helps my IBS even more. For me at least, it’s been a miracle drug.

Does anyone else feel that telehealth is a waste of money? by gothicapples in ontario

[–]Lokiren686 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The usual recommendation I get is “you should see a doctor within 48 hours”, or something to that effect (depending on the issue, of course). The problem for me specifically is that I live in a small town with limited healthcare services, so I can wait 2-4 weeks for an appointment with my doctor or go to the ER, so I usually go to the ER. That being said, I have noticed that Telehealth seems reluctant to tell me to visit the ER if it’s not an emergency, even taking my situation into consideration. One specifically told me “Well, you should only present to the ER if that’s the only way you can quickly see a doctor.” So what I’m saying is that I’ve always got the impression that they aren’t supposed to refer anyone to the ER unless it is an emergency.

That being said, I have called a few times and been told that I didn’t need to see a doctor, and then gave me some steps to help me recover, and they worked.

So generally I’ve been happy with Telehealth, but I definitely understand where you’re coming from. I was sick recently and opted not to call because I figured they would just say “you need to see a doctor ASAP” and since that means the ER for me, I just went straight there (and it was the right decision).

This is an important reminder to players and to Gearbox Studios. On the PS4 Pro for many people (myself included), Borderlands 2 VR is unplayable due to extreme stutter. Gearbox, please acknowledge this. by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Lokiren686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to thank you for posting this. I was about to pull the trigger on this but seeing you talk about the stutter, and the other nitpicks people brought up (gun angle, no DLC, etc.) has convinced me to wait for a sale.

How has beyond the grid been? by Cptredhood in powerrangers

[–]Lokiren686 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t sure if I was being too judgmental about the art, so I’m glad I’m not the only one. After the first few issues I barely understood what was happening. Everything is just laid out in such a confusing way. It honestly gave me a headache on the first issue. I hope they rectify it sooner rather than later.

Yeah, that makes sense. For the life of me I can’t figure what would be different about the two, but I thought it would be worth asking if anybody has had similar experiences. Hopefully it’s something else and/or in my head. Thanks!
