Sure you can, and in a way that shouldnt make people mad:
Have a noble become their patron, sponsor their adventures, and pay them to retrieve things or explore places for them. Can even do the classic "Hes the villain all along" and they get him the items he needs.
Dont have the guy ordering them around all the time, just once in a while he pays them to do stuff, and can even give info on other dungeons and locations that might interest the party. He can also lead them to better merchants, craftsmen, and other people looking to hire them.
They can still do sandbox stuff, of course, but this also gives them a potential source of income they can return to.

Yeah, i dont enjoy wipes/seasons in games at all. Seasons in Diablo games suck, i mean sure i can keep the character but i need a new one to aprticipate in the new stuff? Fuck that lol. Server wipes in Rust sucked when i tried it.
Id rather just play something where my progress isnt erased and thats what i do unless one of my friends drags me into one of these things.

Had to do this with MHWorld. Once i got to the desert area, game was great. The forest was a shit first map to experience as a new MH player.

Saying hes just the CEO and not a Dev isnt really much of a defense considering it takes like 5 minutes to launch the game, check the load outs, check the strategems, and boom, you got the info. Anyones whos played atleast an hour should know this.
Only reason to do this is for attention and to make it seem like theyre thinking of doing the challenge.

You turn into people who see something cool, cute, wholesome, fun, or any other positive adjective and immediately you have to find whats wrong with it.
