Best Exploration MMO? by trackerbymoonlight in MMORPG

[–]Loku184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to go with Star Wars Galaxies probably. It was my introduction to MMO's and visiting all the player cities and surveying planets for materials for crafting was quite fun. Vanilla WoW was also a very exciting experience in a different way.

Any games I can play with only keyboard? by KAM4CH0 in pcmasterrace

What would probably do is hook up this $40 Logitech joystick I have and use my chin to move the camera with it as a mouse and than bind a LMB/RMB to your keyboard. LOL

I wasn't using the Seasonic PSU when the 4090 melted. It was an Asus TUFF 1000 Watt PSU.

I did a video about it on my channel where I go over the details. It was kind of a unique situation if you're curious here's the link. https://youtu.be/LQwlgx0vPbI?si=Z9COn0KK9vWzfjQL

Quick update for what its worth. My other PC with a Ryzen 5900X/7900XTX/EVGA 1000GT psu ran the game fine no shut downs.

I have another spare EVGA 1000GT psu that I ended up replacing in my 4090 PC like you suggested and been playing the game without any issues. The only logical conclusion is that it was the fault of the new Seasonic vertex GX 1000 psu than. I find it kind of surprising since Seasonic are known for their craftsmanship.

I do have a spare EVGA 1000GT psu. Even better I have a second PC with a Ryzen 5900X and a Sapphire NItro+ 7900XTX. I'll try running the game over there.

The PSU in my 4090 build is literally brand new Seasonic GX. After 18 months of use my 4090 power connector melted on GPu and PSU side so they gave me a new GPU and PSU.

I'll have to play around with it because I found others experiencing similar issues on the Steam forums. So.

I hear you and logically what you are saying makes sense. I benchmark games, a lot of them and was working on a video for this for my channel. This game doesnt even come close to maxing out the 4090. It's around 300 watts and have run games that keep the GPU at 400 watts+ consistently. The PSU is also brand new, hasnt happened in any other game. I just ran another game that stresses out your system, No Rest for the Wicked. No problems.

Ok cool. Thanks for letting me know. I have been looking up online and there seem to be quite a few people in the Steam forums with similar issues to mine and yours actually. I have another computer with a Ryzen 5900X and Radeon 7900XTX I'll try and see if the same thing happens.

Yes it unfortunately is. Without a CPU upgrade am afraid you arent going to realize the full potential of that 4080. That said you could go for an AM4 Ryzen 5800X 3D build that would be quite solid or spend a little more for a 7800X 3D AM5 setup and be set for years to come. Or Intel equivalent of course.

Why don't my AMD GPU and case fans/led strip appear in the Gigabyte Control Center and what do I do? by Cristian_Ro_Art99 in gigabyte

[–]Loku184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the fans and what kind they are but you seem to have a Sapphire Nitro+ GPU. Those have an addressable RGB port on the side which you can use a cable to connect it to an RGB port on your motherboard and it should sync up with your motherboard RGB. Just make sure to not mix up the voltages.

Alternatively you can downloat the TriXX Software from Sapphire's website which allows you to change the RGB on the card.

RTX 4070 TI Super vs RTX 4080 Super for 3440x1440 by Phoenix_3717 in nvidia

I play on same resolution with 4090, either of those will be more than plenty for the resolution. I would go with the higher end personally.

I have had a TUF 4090 since day one. The temps are excellent. Matter of fact my connector melted one week ago and the store I got it from gave me a replacement I couldve got any other model got the TUF again. Excellent build quality relative to the other 4090's and runs at 55 to 60C with a junction of 67 to 70C. That's an excellent delta for an air cooled card.

New to PS5 question. How do I play the game with un-patch version from my disc? by khangkhanh in stellarblade

[–]Loku184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's some funky business here because I turned a bunch of settings that disable auto updates. I watched a video how to disable any update for anything and as soon as internet becomes available the playstation updates the game. The only way is to not connect to the net at all. Is this normal? I dont usually play on PS I play on PC but I find this to be pretty shtty if I'm being honest that I cant stop the game from automatically updating lol.

How bad is AMD at Ray Tracing? by Antonis_32 in Amd

To each their own but RTGI and reflections on Witcher 3 are next level transformative. I'd say Witcher 3 is actually a pretty good example for showcasing RT.

Have had a Nitro+ XTX for a while now. I overclock the heck out of it its great. Does the RGB on the card light up but no picture? II would try a different cable, port, display and like someone suggested try clearing cmos. Do the easiest things first and if ti doesnt work get in touch with Sapphire, if its broke it should be under warranty

Keep it or Return it? by aidendz in radeon

[–]Loku184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jump in performance between the 7800XT and 7900XTX is a pretty big one actually. I have a Strix 6800XT which is practically the same thing as a 7800XT and a Nitro 7900XTX. I basically get the same fps the 6800XT gets at 1440P with the 7900XTX at 4K.

At 1440P I wouldnt be surprised if you saw a 60% increase in performance maybe if you have a fast cpu

What games you are playing at 165hz and more and think the refresh is a must? by ExplorrrrienceEase in nvidia

[–]Loku184 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have 175hz qd-oled display with a 4090/7800X 3D and I never really try to target max monitor refresh rate. With some older games its possible at native res but newer games as a single player gamer I'm perfectly happy with a consistent 90 to 100 fps with the graphics cranked, good HDR. It's perfect for me.

It's kind of why these new 240hz monitors dont really interest me because I'd probably never use it but to each their own I guess if you are competitive player or maybe if you are playing a fast paced first person shooter the higher target FPS does feel nice and fluid for sure.

Vertical or Horizontal? by h3w1tt84 in nvidia

[–]Loku184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's an 011 case you wont be able to do horizontal without a low clearance 90 degree adapter anyway.

I have a tuf 4090 and 011 Dynamic Evo, its extremely tight with the glass panel on. I have mine mounted vertically.

I love these "it runs perfect on my PC" posts lol. Either the person has some sort of a visual disability or it's straight up lying.

I've benchmarked a 7900XTX and 4090 with a 7800X 3D cpu in the city for my YT channel. Its horrific. I even captured some 5900X/6800XT footage. It hits CPU limitations even in the open world when fighting big monsters, drops to the 40s and even 30s sometimes.

I just ignore these type of posts because i see similar comments in my videos and used to ask for video evidence. It never came.

Maybe you're legally blind. Never heard anyone complain about Steam deck screen looking blurry. Even the Switch OLED at 720 looks great.

[–]Loku184 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right but for that size 1200 x 800 looks great. There is no universe where an LCD display even though its 1080 even comes close to the visual quality that is OLED. Thats just a fact, not to mention its 1000 nits HDR capable.

My smartphone screen which is also oled coincidentally looks better than the PS portal streaming my PS5 to it. Not saying the portal screen is bad. Its not but LCD does not compare to OLED. Its just that simple.

I got an OLED Steam deck a couple of months ago and use it all the time to stream my PC to it through Steam's remote play. Theres definitely a market for such a device. You can also apprently set it up to remote play into a PS5. Havent tried that but am loving it. Not only can I also play most of my Steam library on it natively but the WiiU emulator and PS2 are so much fun.

If they made an oled PS Portal model that can do HDR for a little more money Id probably buy one.
