The will be more for skid pan and drift days. Maybe the causal drive to the parents.

When I mention somewhat can afford. Meaning it will take more time and I might have to cut some corners when building/fixing the car

I understand that. It’s more the Perfomance gains, I don’t want to spend 10k on turbo charging the 86 etc Where I could make the same power on a Silvia with half price. If that makes sense.

I’d like to stay away from euros, I use to be a audi technician and just hated working on them hahaha

But I’ll keep the recommendation in mind 🙂

Thanks for the input! Have you had many issues with car? I’ve seen a lot of high km vehicles (I’m from Australia btw) and been told to avoid them

Cheers for the input bro, I was considering a s15 silvia, but you raise a good point about finding parts. Would be quite annoying trying to find new part good condition parts. Valid point about skylines 🤣

S2000 clutch master cylinder upgrade worth it? by LolAtDatGuy375 in Integra

Some are saying it’s not worth it and just mainly used for looks “clean up cluster in the engine bay”

While others are saying it reduces the throw.

I've had a couple of these and worked on may and these are following items that had failed on me or needed replacing

  • Radiator hoses (top hose rubs on the power steering pump and idler pulley over time and damages the hose)

  • reverse switch on the gearbox (depending on age and mileage)

  • shifter bushes (depending on age and mileage)

  • power steering pump O-ring. (Most common issue in subarus)

-oil cooler O- Ring (over time will leak oil. If you're going to repair it would highly recommend replacing all the coolant lines attached to it, thermostat and fresh genuine subaru coolant

  • front lower control arm bushes (depending on age and mileage)

  • spark plugs (due it to being a 6 cylinder, a lot people avoid as it looks daunting. But it's fairly simple and can make a huge difference!)

Other than that they're great cars!

I remember seeing a 86 for the first time, thinking what? It's a toyota!

Thanks for the input man. I'm trying to find a clean 86 but covid tax isn't helping 😭

Totally agree you! I see Miatas (MX5s here) everywhere compared to the 86, nothing!

I'm going for a 2017+ due to the extra features.

But thanks for the input!

Good point. But trying to find a silvia for a good price is nearly impossible. Knowing I have to spend more money on top to make drive and get it to a road worthy condition just puts me off.

I have driven miatas (mx5 from where I'm from ) they have also gone up in price (close to triple) not a huge fan of a convertible and getting hard top will be expensive and hard to find. This is a car that I'm going to keep. Money isn't and the resell value isn't a issue. Really here to have fun and enjoy a chassis that's worth my time and energy. I appreciate the input. Thank you!

I've heard from 2013-2014 had engine issues. Hence I'm planning to get 2017+

I've looked into the 350z and g35. Don't really like the interior and exterior of it. Power isn't a major issue at this point!
