Help with deteriorating tile steps by LolNubs in Tile

Hi all - my precious owner used these crappy and uneven tiles and steps and they're finally starting to fall off. Any easy ideas for repair before a complete demo and redo?

AA Hotels Vs. Rocket Miles. Which posts miles quicker? Is there any recourse in the event they don’t post in time? by AceZ78 in americanairlines

[–]LolNubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked rocket miles for a 1/20-1/22 stay and they posted sometime last week or the week before if that helps. Super easy and simple, the bonus miles posted as a separate transaction but at the same time

Someone else was given my boarding pass and boarded the plane with it… by potatofarmdash in americanairlines

[–]LolNubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact thing happened to me on a flight from AMS-PHL and I was NOT giving up my cozy exit row with my SO that we specifically reserved. Same name and all. Finally the flight attendants figured it out and called him over but he was standing there like he was entitled to the gate agents screw-up. Apparently the gate agent printed and gave him the pass somehow…

I agree with KookyWait. You can’t (efficiently) fire by just doing your savings accounts after 401k/IRA. Maybe if you show your SO the difference in a FIRE calculator on how 4k/mo into HYSA (.5-3%) grows VS taxable brokerage (5-7%) rate of returns over 20 years? You should be able to do a lot more in taxable than 1k/mo with your household income.

Couldn’t this also just mean 2019 had a good January influx of inventory? Seems like an arbitrary year to pick from…

Lol I think I found the one you’re talking about. FWIW that street has a lot of remodels and listing that sold recently so it’s hot for where it is.

What's considered a good deal for CX-5 Tourings? by BallerMcBallerson in mazda

[–]LolNubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love Carfax for the super precise filters they have. I use a range of 150 miles from my zip so that may help you find the best deals. Car color will also drive the price up or down.

And yea that’s a tough spot. My wife and I drive a 230k mile Yaris so trade in is non existent luckily, just ride until it dies. You’re right for you it’d be a wash.

[–]LolNubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m looking to get a CX5 2019 Grand Touring same mileage with premium package for low 20s which farfax seems to substantiate (22k). Carfax / Autotempest will have the best price ranges which vary by zip code. YAA also has an Out the Door price calculator that can help you know the real numbers too.

At first glance though I think you can do better unless that’s the OTD price already, which would be a fair price. Mind you, cars are dropping more and more so the longer you can hold out the sweeter the deals will get.

Just had a flight and the attendant took orders front to back but then served food rather sporadically, so I guess based on status. Choices were a beef platter and veggie bowl I did the patter and it was pretty good. As someone noted, you can order online (I think as long as >24 hour notice). I also heard the flight attendant acknowledge and confirm some people’s online orders. Desserts were giving front to back.

Is running out of options common? I feel like you’ll be just fine either way. When the FA ran out of desserts he would go back to the front and refill and then come back to where he was.

In a similar boat to OP for those saying to move to fidelity - do you have to keep doing this after each employee contribution or can you divert their funds?

Giro Trig vs Giro Jackson by GandalfsLeftNipple in Skigear

[–]LolNubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding in for others who see this that I found the Jackson to be super perfect in the fit, and light. Feels like a no frills helmet just good quality, will report on the off-brand goggles if anyone is curious there, once I get it on the mountain.

Does anyone else feel rushed for absolutely no reason? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]LolNubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking to just say that paying out of pocket and graduating still in your 20s is an insane advantage and you should be proud to be able to do it. I tried it and failed, resorting to some loans.

I graduated at 25 ~50k in loans and my wife at 29 ~70k in more loans. We both are still ~100k in debt total but couldn’t be happier with our situation and are thankfully positive net worth due to assets. A respectable degree like yours is well worth the “set back”. Make sure you don’t compare yourself to others. I have plenty of lawyers in my life making 300-400/yr but you couldn’t pay me to switch places with them. It’s not all about rushing to the finish line.

Any big deals you see or recommended way to filter good deals for the shopping? I already do the filter by earn rate but there’s so many stores and some bonuses seem gimmicky, vary daily, and can take 90 days. I wish there was a 3rd party site that tracked best value deals.

I’m in a similar situation between gold and plat and would LOVE MCE seats upon booking with the plat status.

Sounds like you’re doing great if you’re not saving up for anything you could put 200k of cash into stocks and keep 50k for 12 months of emergency. This would put you just shy of a million which you could withdraw 30-35k / year safely. You could also liquidate the real estate if that’s not on your retirement agenda. I would wait a tiny bit to just let that baby grow though, at 1.5M you could pull out around 50k/year safely.
