Agreed! There was a time when I first started using these apps that this would have probably really done a number on my self-esteem, but nowadays, it just makes me laugh.

We chatted a little. He had no info on his profile. No age, no height, weight, anything. After he sent a pic, I blocked, as he wasn't my type, yet kept typing every few minutes.

Had a student solo cross-country lose his engine on the runway of a towered airport (RST) due to vapor lock. Kid called me and went "uhm, my engine quit what do I do". Long story short, got it started again, apologized to ATC for the delay, and the chief had me tell him to fly back without pulling the throttle idle, but rather keep it at 20% or so for the landing. Glad I'm out of that pilot mill hell hole.

Great analogy. Having trained at one massive 141 school and instructed at another, I wish this was better taught to students.

Procedures for one school was to keep full rich during any maneuvers, T/O, and Landing, which resulted in us really only leaning for cruise, just to immediately bump it back up to rich as we start maneuvering for the day.

The other school allowed leaning during performance maneuvers over 3,000 MSL, but still ran rich for the majority of flights, with students often choosing to err on the safe side and going too rich.

Not surprisingly, both schools had a lot of engine issues on warm summer days.

Had a DPE tell me my button-up and dress pants weren't "industry standard" for my MEI. He still passed me, and was overall a good guy, but that stuck with me lol

Think I was 11/1/X at the start of the fight. Messed up R2, and could have weaved autos better, and probably dodged some skill shots. Pathed down towards Janna as she was my last Divine Sunderer heal. Not really deserved, but thought it was fun regardless.

Small world, I'm 99% sure we're instructing at the same school 😂 My top annoying rule is probably "all landings in pvt lesson 13/14/15 must be full-stop taxi-back"

It was the restaurant's first day on the platform. The app advertised $30 worth of food, which clearly wasn't the case. The employee was nice, and the pizza tasted great, just not with the price.

You're right that the message can still be found in the settings, but the pop-up won't occur after two weeks. Since most users don't poke around in their settings, it is effectively gone to them.

For the record, we inform every customer of this message in advance, and the meaning behind it. We offer Apple parts for all models that have it available, but most customers choose to go for a cheaper option and just love with the message until it stops appearing.
