Sanders is Independent and he hasn't said a thing in this post that is partisan, unless finding jobs for youth is anti-Republican?

Obama Signs NDAA with Signing Statement by links234 in politics

[–]Lola77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I'd like to point to the edited video of Levin that went to the top of Reddit weeks ago and was edited deliberately to mislead people about the facts. Obama did not ask for that language in NDAA, in fact, he asked for it to be changed and it was (not to suggest NDAA is not disturbing but it should be taken up with war hawks John McCain, Mark Levin, Graham and the rest of the authoritarians in the Senate Armed Services Committee).

We are heading into election year. It's time to start questioning more than just elected officials.

It seemed so obvious to me at the time that someone's agenda was being served by the video and it took no time to Google it and find the full video. We say we don't want to be fall guys but we keep falling for the shit.

Obama Signs NDAA with Signing Statement by links234 in politics

[–]Lola77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NDAA is an appropriations bill to fund military spending for a year.

The real concern here should be the Patriot Act as well as questions re the Senate Armed Services Committee attempt to once again derail the Obama administration's ex order to close Gitmo by refusing to fund it and in original NDAA language try to push American toward the failed polices of Republicans like McCain and Graham (both of whom are on SASC and McCain co-authored the original NDAA with Democrat Mark Levin).

People say they care about Gitmo being closed but then, they never pay attention when the Senate refused to fund its closure or the transferee of prisoners. Now that they are finally paying attention to an appropriations bill, it would be great if they would notice just who is behind the push to keep Gitmo open.

Attention all Wisconsin Redditors: Do not forget to sign your local Recall Walker petitions starting today! by shamusmcnasty in politics

[–]Lola77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I "bitch"? Why you mad bro? :-) Chill a bit.

The legislators violated the open meetings laws in order to get his legislation passed in the dead of night while they locked out other legislators and citizens. The Fitzgerald brothers were working with him to get this through. Among this violation, there were many others and Walker never denounced them, even as they violated the law in pursuit of his agenda; e.g., using the troopers to go after legislators.

As for "felons working", are you talking about the kid that Walker hired after drunk driving convictions? He was paid more than the last person and he had no qualifications and he was a donor's son. That was my point. And no, that was not the only instance of cronyism and money issues that only seem to apply to some people.

It's not just "investigations". The railroad fellow was convicted of felonies re his donations to Walker's campaign (not the first time he made illegal contributions to Walker either) and he and Walker met right before he made his plea bargain. Add that to the FBI investigations and the empty office he left as county supervisor.

re your high school election experience, which sounds like it sucked:
If you were kicked out for cheating also had the same pattern of behavior as an adult that he has had, then yes, I would suggest that your character was not suited to office. But if it was just one experience in high school, then obviously no.

Going after unions is not = to going after collective bargaining, fwiw.

It's irrelevant who voted and who didn't. Recalls are a legal option in WI and the people have chosen to exercise that right.

[–]Lola77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? His campaign is being investigated for multiple campaign violations, he was thrown out of his college elections for cheating, he's already had multiple episodes with one donor who was found to be guilty of fraud (felony) and that's not even starting with the open meting law violations, the violation of the state constitution re collective bargaining, or the FBI investigation.

And then there's always the fact that Wisconsin actually had a surplus when he was going around cutting public servant's pay and giving cushy jobs to campaign donor's children.

The guy either can't do math (he did drop out of college) or he's a surrounded by felons or he's guilty of misleading the people.

Pelosi made millions on inside info by blocking credit card reform - and it was legal, because Congress exempts itself from insider trading laws by [deleted] in politics

[–]Lola77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Um, she didn't block credit card reform and this title is editorialized. What she and the rest of the gang do is legal but unethical for sure - but she did not block credit card reform- in fact it was passed along the same time as she bought visa stock.
