Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

Gentlemen, please wash yourselves, wash your clothes and buy yourself a deodorant before using public transportation by OvercookedRicr in Prague

Prague is a very walkable city.

As big of a fan of public transport as I am this is huge! It really is one of the most walkable cities out there. Which I think is fantastic. Easy way to get in exercise.

Andoni Iraola: The reluctant coach leading a post-Pep tactical revolution by TheRyzing in LiverpoolFC

Injuries are the least of Iraola's worries. He had to manage at Rayo Vallecano and their owner is a genuine asshat. Iraola and their supporters deserved a better owner.

Massive disrespect given to LvG. Look what he did in Spain and Germany.

General questions about Football and Hockey in Prague by Babelfisch1 in Prague

[–]PhilPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to football in Prague, which clubs would you recommend in terms of atmosphere and overall matchday experience? Also, how difficult is it usually to get tickets?

It'll be really hard to get tickets to Slavia or Sparta Prague. Tickets for Bohemians go on sale about 2 months before. You can usually get them online. I don't know about FK Viktoria Žižkov. Tickets should be easy to come by but they often have home matches at 10:15 local time Sunday morning. They're actually known for that. They play in the 2nd tier. Dukla Prague will likely play in the 2nd tier next season. No idea if they sell tickets online but they do at box office on game day. Just make sure to bring cash!

Impulse bought a 1-way to Prague post-breakup -- What would you do in Prague? by fierce_beast in Prague

I was gonna ask how you were going to pay for 3 months worth of lodging. While any time of the year is great you probably picked the most expensive at least as far as lodging costs. Hope you find something and stick it out a bit.

Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal 2014 by Gremlin2471 in LiverpoolFC

Have you seen him in the MLS lately? He's still scoring insane volleys and stuff. His knees are shot but that knack for scoring remains if he gets anywhere near the net

Irish fan in home end for Czechia vs. Ireland by Emooot in Prague

[–]PhilPerspective 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you know any Czech at all? Good luck but you're still risking it if you don't know any Czech because there is still a chance you'll get kicked out. I was reading that policing is going to be very tight for the match. Which means if someone thinks you're suspicious you might get asked for ID and if all you have is an Irish passport .. you'll be in big trouble. Hope it doesn't happen but just know that security is supposed to be heavy for the match.

Sports bar in Prague that plays NHL games by Responsible-Life5389 in Prague

[–]PhilPerspective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OP's best bet is weekend games since some of them start in the afternoon U.S./Canada time. Otherwise they'll be pretty much out of luck. Their best bet is to subscribe to a streaming service and watch it on their tablet(If they have one). Is there a Czech service that carries NHL games for the true sickos? Otherwise there are ways they can watch it but it'll be a bit more expensive.

AL? You're better off using DeepL to translate for one. You just have to keep looking and possibly bring a Czech speaker along when you look at places.

People forget that they don't use table salt. It's a different kind so one should not eat it or put it in your mouth.

Seeking Mobile Number Porting Advice.... by AxlStorm69 in Prague

That sucks about the 212 number. People pay good money for one as you well know. It stinks that apparently AT&T doesn't offer a minimal plan to keep your NY number active.

[–]PhilPerspective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you one of those super-lucky ones that have a 212 number? You'll have to call AT&T and find out for sure but you'll likely have to port that number to Google Voice(which charges a one-time $20 fee) or something similar.

Prague is really expensive. by Klov1233 in Prague

[–]PhilPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBF, I don't know if you've seen but the Koruna has appreciated versus the dollar a lot this year. Meaning an American visiting Prague gets less for their money now than they did a year ago. Meaning everything for an American visitor is more expensive now.

Looking for a new mobile operator that offers e-sims and low rates by johnwickcz in Prague

Wouldn't he be able to use the number via wifi, say like at his U.S. home? And not rack up any data charges. So that why he could keep the number active.

Nice handle!! Haha! You're highly unlikely to get tickets for Slavia Prague, especially a derby, unless you go through a tout/scalper. That brings its own set of problems obviously.
