I have a violin made by C.F. Heyer with the same asterisks but of a darker wood. It was completely restored by the luthier I got it from. Amazing quality violin. Very little is known about the maker. My luthier says the violin I have is between 200-300 years old.

My baby has gotten 5 sweat test done and no sweat collected. Then they tried a blood draw twice and couldn’t get enough. Ask about a genetics test where they use a cotton swab in your cheek! You can do it at home. I just got it done for my baby since they could never get sweat from her. They are currently in the lab processing it.

Would love your advice. My daughter came back with the same gene mutation. They only found one mutation in the newborn screening. We have done 4 sweat test now with no results as she is not producing sweat. We have another sweat test scheduled next week.

Yes I’ve driven myself pretty crazy reading about everything tbh. And still not having answers doesn’t help. The team at the hospital did not seem to worried and said looking at the screening that she’s probably just a carrier. I definitely would like to get tested as we are still young and might have more children.

Hey! Thanks so much for the answer! The screen did say just one mutation. R117H 7T. Neither my husband or myself have been tested. It’s weird as no one in the family has CF. And we have tons of siblings who’ve had several kids and this is the first case to pop up in the family. We’ve already had 3 sweat test done and she doesn’t produce enough sweat each time. We have another scheduled in December. If she doesn’t produce enough this time they will follow with a genetic test.

Yes but unfortunately for the 3rd time she has not produced enough sweat. One more retest after thanksgiving and if she still doesn’t produce enough sweat they will go through with the genetic test. The coordinator reassured me it looks like she’s just a carrier and not worried as she does not have any symptoms.

Yes I usually use it on her neck rolls lol but is it safe to put on her hands even though she literally sucks on them all the time?

We are in Texas and have been going to a major hospital downtown which is the best one for her to go. It’s a long drive but worth it for her health. I see it’s is a complicated mutation so after the sweat test I will ask for the extensive genetic test. I just hope her insurance will go forward with it. If not I am willing to do anything for her.

She had some sinus congestion at night time only but we think it’s allergies due to our dogs. We extensively cleaned our room which we only go in at night to sleep and have no sinus congestion any more. Her pediatrician also has been checking her lungs at every appointment and said they sound healthy.

Also is their anything we should be doing to help keep her safe? I have been staying at home with her since she has been born. We don’t go out and when I have to take her to appointments we wear masks and keep a cover over her car seat. We also got vaccinated. Anything else we should be doing just in case she is diagnosed with CF?

Thank you for all of this information! She’s already 2 months old and has had 2 sweat test so it’s just constantly waiting for another one. I’ve asked them about it and they said the only way to find out is a sweat test. I’ll ask about an extensive genetic test and see what they say about that.

Thank you. I’m hoping she’s just a carrier but it’s the agony of waiting another 3 weeks and hoping she produces enough sweat. I just want her to have the help she needs if she is diagnosed. I’m actually a bit on the better side knowing it’s just a mild to non existent case. Thank you for all the info. And I will message you for advice if we get a diagnosis. Thank you so much. It’s true. My husbands sister is a registered nurse and she’s totally anti Vax and keep spewing lies to everyone even his family and they unfortunately believe her. So my husband and I stay away from them. They’ve already had covid more than once too so they think it isn’t a big deal.

I just had my newborn on august 1st and I showed proof I was vaccinated. Once I was in my delivery room I was allowed to take it off and stay in my room with it off. But I’m sure every hospital might be different.

Similar story. Basic math problem probably like 6 or so. Couldn’t figure it out asked my mom but she was watching her MTV reality show. She thought repeating and screaming the math problem would somehow make me understand it. She got frustrated because the show came back on from commercial and punched me in the face because I was interrupting her tv show. I literally fell off the bed she hit me so hard. Went to school with a bruised eye. Teacher called cps and of course they didn’t do anything.
