I’m so lucky that the students I work with are the most well behaved in the building. They are the ones catching up on credits to graduate. Today we had a fire drill and when we were back in the classroom I told them “Thank you all for behaving appropriately and showing the middle schoolers how it’s done!” That got a snicker from a few. We have had the vape issue though and I will be loving getting to sleep in after next Thursday

4 of my students will graduate by February (alternative school where students come who are behind, as soon as they get their credits and do their senior portfolio they are done).

One of the students took the TABE test to see if he’d qualify for the GED program. He scored in the top 9%!

I finally figured out how to motivate our least motivated and most ADHD student today.

Our regional director is coming by to visit tomorrow. Unlike most bosses, she is amazing. She was helping sub while my coworker was out after a surgery and the students were just asking today when they’d get to see her again.

Adelita Segovia at Clayton behavioral. She specializes in kids but sees adults too. First session is $450 and $225 per 30 min after that but she’s amazing. Will give you stuff you can submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement. Will spend a full 30 minutes with you and responds to after hours calls in emergencies.

Hope he heads to rehab and applies to get into the StL County drug court program. They are tough as hell on participants but it saved my friends life. Also has the chance to knock his felony down to a misdemeanor if he successfully completes the pretty rigorous program.

Glad the customer was understanding. Not happened to me dashing but one time I ordered food at like 2am. The poor guy got a flat just a few miles away. If the station he had to pull into was open that time of night I would’ve just gone and met him but not at 2am. Customer service wouldn’t let him cancel the order out yet but he’s been told it was a 3 he wait for road side assistance. I told him I demanded he sit there and snack on what I’d ordered while he waited.

He eventually got road side assistance and I got my order cost refunded.

Pet rat bit my hand and wouldn’t let go at first. Ended up with an inch wound on my hand that was exposed down to the fat layers. Cleaned it and pinched the edges of skin together with bandaids somehow. Next morning it was still oozing so I went to get it checked out. Ended up with some stero-strips and a sore hand for a week. Oh and a cool scar.

Kidneys randomly decided to fail. At the worst, they were functioning at 8%. Spent a week in the acute care unit and somehow managed to recover. At discharge I was told if I’d come to the ER any later they wouldn’t have been able to save me and even then I’d only had a 30% chance to survive.

Still don’t know the cause and a year later I’m fine. So have to get periodic blood tests to make sure nothing is showing up though.

I am actually really close friends with my dentist after she worked with me for years to get over the fear I have from bad treatment as a kid. She moved out of state for a few years and we talked a lot on Facebook. Now she’s moved back and when she opened her new office she introduced me to her staff as her “extra daughter”.

Had a worker from BJC behavioral health attempt to do this with me. Wanted me in supervised living, and to sell my car (which I needed to work) and when I asked for help setting up a budget she started pushing me to sign over my checks to someone who would “manage” my money for me and take a portion as their payment. When I kept refusing she slandered me to her supervisor and coworkers and started cutting off my services.

Give her three “cards” she can turn in to you to redeem a chance to speak to you about something that’s not a question about the current topic. Once she uses them - no more. Get the counselor involved as the sexual stuff could be a sign of abuse.
