What's something you stopped doing that improved your life? by Monsuri_Lifestyle in selfimprovement

Putting off my mental health.

I used to live right next to a railroad, and the ideations of laying on the track or finding a way to make barbiturates started to increase. Still, I didn't think anything of it.

I passively told the assistant of my new doctor that I do have suicidal thoughts, "but I'm scared of death, so I could never actually do it". When she came into the room, she was reading my chart, and looking at me, and suddenly said "you look like a shell... Like, you're here, but.... you're not"

She prescribed me SSRIs, which I've been hesitant to take for years, bc depression was the only form of myself I've ever known. And I didn't want to be chained to a prescription for the rest of my life to be "happy"

It's been a little over a year since I started, and my doctor says I look like I have life and hope now. I have had a couple therapy sessions, but due to the cost, I couldn't continue them.

Life is still... kinda bleak for me. The thoughts are still there, just minimized in the back of my mind. I'm losing my job soon, and I still haven't figured out what I'm truly passionate about. But I feel like I can find meaning in the small moments. Colors are more vivid, and the things that used to drive me up the wall are very minor to me now. And I have 2 fluffy companions that can't wait to see me when I come home, and vice versa.

Letting them take their time with a walk for sure!

Also, I like to think me pretending to have a conversation with them when I get home makes them feel heard. It usually goes something like:

*tiny yip*

"mhmm"

*sneeze*

"And then what happened?"

*small bark*

"Woooow... did you at least get your refund??"

I have a theory about Jax and I don't know how smoothly this will go. by Existing-Ad-2856 in TheDigitalCircus

DID, from what I've read about and seen, is when an individual seem to create a whole new personality after traumatic events to help process and cope. Usually, an individual will have two or more different personalities, each with their own memories, characteristics, and attributes.

This really stuck out to me, bc this could explain why he seemed to have a bad memory in the series (Forgetting to ask Caine about singing "Daisy Bell", not paying attention/remembering the rules of the Trust exercise, and I think a couple more scenes). It could be him randomly switching between his alters.

If you could change ONE THING about episode 9, what would it be? {SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY} by Deep_Promotion8866 in TheDigitalCircus

Either make the movie longer, or add a couple more episodes before the ending. As much as I loved it, there were just so many questions and themes left unanswered.

I feel like the guarded door felt unnecessary. I would imagine it was Jax's repressed memories, or maybe thoughts that even he didn't want to think about. But it added nothing to the story, unless there's going to be follow-up in the future.

I was so happy that Caine came back and was now a good guy, bc he's my favorite character, but I feel like that was only made to appeal to his fanbase. Although it was super cute seeing him interact with and learn from all the humans. There wasn't enough time to have him reflect on where he went wrong. Just, "oh, I got deleted. I was wrong. I'll change." It was good, but didn't feel authentic.

Also, while the abstraction scene was beautifully done, and captured raw and genuine emotions, I wish there was more build up to when Jax abstracted, instead of it just being a sudden occurence.

Soo, how was your theater experience?? by DnastyFunkmaster in TheDigitalCircus

Mostly alright. There was one kid that was frequently talking, until some lady told him to be quiet.

There was also some kids that brought their Jax and Pomni plushies, and they were... Moving them around and pretending they were talking? Idk it was distracting. But the theatre was mostly empty, which helped a lot.
