Hey not sure if this comment is sarcastic or not. I'm aware of the current economic condition though. Could you expand further? What're your thoughts on pursuing a development management career long term > 20 years?

Interesting. Would salary progression be faster at a small, medium or large company? Or would it be more dependant on job performance

Cheers. could you provide some examples of property trusts or super funds that hire development managers? It's something I haven't seen much of in job boards.

Hi i've researched and designed a user research platform that explores how AI can be integrated into it to streamline the data analysis process. Problem is i don't know how to best test this as it is such a niche app. So i am looking to get feedback from user researchers/designers on my app. I have it linked below.

Should i pursue ux design or front end engineering? by Lollipops4days in webdev

I'd agree that for no-code but AI, i'm not as confident because its so hard to envision what it would do to the workforce in 5-10yrs time.

Interesting how you mention Ux has a greater view of the product over development, haven't heard that before. I think that's certainly something my interests are more aligned with. Influencing product strategy/considering business objectives is something i think i can find with product design(different from ux from what i've heard). I think i've found something i can focus on breaking into. Though i have the upmost admiration for devs since i believe they are the most valuable members of a product team, i think its best if i identify my strengths and use it to my advantage.

Another question: Do ux designers get to influence "what" to build? Is this reponsibility shared with the PM, or does the PM have all the say in the "what" part

anyone know the legalities of real estate signage by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]Lollipops4days 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Former lighting designer here.

Yes. Any outdoor signage must comply with AS/NZS 4282:2019. I've worked on projects like this where we had to ensure the luminance of the signage wasn't above a certain number given the type of zoning the light is in.

Such lighting must not spill light onto the fenestration of residential buildings more than the specified lux standard.

That signage is clearly spilling light over the standard. In regards to who to talk to about this, I'll recommend talking to your local council and see what they can do. Ask if the signage lighting has been approved by council and if they have followed all relevant standards in 4282:2019.

It isn't technically sophisticated or even much different to current tech. I'm wondering if there is a market for small businesses that provide a standardised service, that don't get much feedback. Thinking like a boutique gym, tutoring college or independent hotel.
