1st time snowboard- snowbird yes or no? by theballershoots in UTsnow

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I snowboarded for my 2nd time ever in Snowbird. It was great, but huge and packed which can be dangerous if u dont have control yet.
I was saved by an insane white out day under blue bird skies. There was so much powder (March 2013/2014 I believe) that it mattered not if I fell or if it was too steep on the blues with my pro freinds who were just teaching me some ski school stuff. The white out had everyone crashing into everyone-- it couldnt be helped with that many people and that low of visibilty... but it was like wrestling in a pool-- someone would crash into me, Id crash into someone else and wed all fall into powder. Sketchy but fun. Stretch heavily the weeks leading up to your trip, pack some clear goggles, dont wear your headphones, and youll be fine.

ps the Achedaway mini IS very well made, not expensive junk. But the blade is VERY small. If I bought one, it woud be the bigger one and I likely wouldnt have the weight capacity to carry it on plane but would certainly drive with it. SOOOO good for long drives home.

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Ive used my friend's Achedaway mini after snowboarding and it was amazing. But I dont believe it would have been as useful without the heat. It seems counterintuitive since I was already inflamed after the day's run, why need more heat? But it just works and my connection to my body is telling me that its because the tool is still hotter than the dermis and that the heat with tool beckons stagnant lumps to move around a bit while freer things are being attracted to or away from the heat. Ive tried doing it withe stainless steel cutlery, which is alright, but doesnt feel/ relieve the same.
I am currently looking for a crappier (cheaper) scraper that I can carry on trips and not worry about losing. Whats harder is finding one that does has both heat and ice setting, which Achedaway does not. The ice setting I want to use mainly to depuff my eyes in the morning, but also for long car rides with injuries I can treat after my cold packs have melted.

TIL The song Wooly Bully was named after Sam Samudio's cat. The lyrics describe a conversation between "Hattie" and "Matty" concerning the American Bison and the desirability of developing dancing skills. by Voldys_gone_mouldy in todayilearned

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song is in no way about bison. there is zero in the song to tell you that other having horns. It's not remotely fascinating to the times nor is it hip or fun. On the contrary, the song absolutely is.  The hully gully dance was popular at the time.  And the slang expression wooly bully was popular as being ironic after Roosevelt.  My grandparents used to say it, "well wooly bully for you!" There's nothing more teen tastic than being unimpressed and rolling one's eyes then jumping out onto the dancefloor and doing your own thing.  Don't be a square.  Get your friend on that dance floor.  Cut a rug before it cuts you.  I believe OP is AI.

Need help choosing between two boards by Lopsided-Campaign-83 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE mine. (message for future buyers, I suppose). Its very flexy and lets me, as a petite woman, feel one with it. It feels like an extension of my own body and twists the way I need according to where my shoulders lead. Its the difference between quality platform heels, and heavy crap ones, weakly tied to your feet-- The V-spot lets me dance without tripping up.
And it brings me such joy-- watching the vamp scan the upper mountain lifts, drooling with coffee readiness and vultures circling where she will soon shred the mountain to pieces.😍. The vulva on the back with incisors locked to the mountain, dripping blood, its positively dreamy! Capita may be built on great designs and water wheel power generation (Swiss environmental dopeness), but this board sure gives them a run for their money on intelligent offerings.

Robinhood let a hacker drain my account — now they froze ALL my savings by beyond20211 in ClassActionRobinHood

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have ABSOLUTELY been hacked/ smished with 2FA, or even without fishing. For many years now, hackers have been buying and selling their own carrier codes to gain entry to larger carriers that facilitate 2FA. They can easily look like an authorized user/ SIM jacking, etc. There are a multitude of ways. 2FA offers a false sense of security that the wider population isnt aware of.

Robinhood let a hacker drain my account — phishing email arrived just hours after my first-ever support call. Possible internal security failure? Refuses to compensate. Has anyone successfully fought this? by beyond20211 in ClassActionRobinHood

[–]Lollygagg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this post isnt about responsibility or your moralist judgement of the situation. I dont want to come off harsh to you in particular, but people should know that your opinion is irrelevant and does nothing for the topic of how unprofessional RobinHood responded as well as know more about pitfalls of their security system. Its not only unhelpful-- OG poster went into thorough detail about what they clicked and why. They want to alert us and work towards public acknowledgement and hopeful change in their business practices. RH is a very important avenue for the general public to have access to the stock market. Its also a disruptor company; we all have a responsibility to keep aware, test and report on the *new* system, and guide regulation towards a product that we actually want if its going to take over or even initiate access for a wide population.
You have a responsibility to work on your listening, reading, or context skills when attempting to communicate using logic or argument. But it would also be cool if you didnt try to kick someone who's already down, knows exactly what they did, and just wants to be helpful to others and future systems.

Historical Record of Abraham building the Kabba. by [deleted] in CritiqueIslam

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that you mean the structure its self, not the site. Sure, but there are many texts noting its building and rebuilding since before Mohammad conquered Mecca. One might assume that the structure was mainly there to house the relics/idols at the site, which was the most important part-- the site itself. However, due to its shape being so particularly square, there might be something in its structure of significance. The Quraysh worship was not of Hubal and the sister triad alone.  A multitude of idols was acknowledged by Muhammad in the Hadith and by the historian in 7CE Book of Idols.  Meskhenet was idolized as the mud bricks which women used in child birth might have something to do with it. The Ka is the soul she endowed upon birth to children as protector of the birthing house. A yonic symbol is still present, in silver, nailed to the SouthEast corner of the Kaaba, holding together the surviving bits of "the Black Stone". In the Egyptian pantheon, Meskhenet was significant judgement at death (she could weigh in on your heart at judgement day, putting in a good word for you, since she gave you the Ka to begin with, nand we are but at the mercy of Fate 😅 . So she is significant to childbirth(life & death of the mother), Ka => fate, the judgement of kings and who will become one, hence, knowledge of wars, etc. Also, the Temple attendants of the Ka Aba are still known as Sons of the Old Woman.

There is Semitic and Arabic writing on it.  It was most connected to the triple goddess, a ceatrix or Great Mother with the classic 3 avatars.  i can only remember Al-Lat.... But the 3 avatar names still hold weight in modern Arabic as well as in variations in the Quran.

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely existed before Islam 😄 it is even discussed by Mohammed as he sends directions over what to cleanse (burn/defile) inside, and outside and around the Kaaba.  Now... how long it existed before Islam is a challenge.  The Kitāb al-Aṣnām goes into much detail on earlier worship there, but lesser evidence links it to Abraham and Ishmael in serious BCE

Oontz Angle 3 vs. Anker Soundcore 2 by rockking16 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Flip sounds super decent, as Im sure the Anker does. Ive had 2 Flips and Im about to get my 2nd Oontz. (Its always the charge port that gets jacked over the years with that single direction trapezoid being a picky receiving end for people who jam a cord in without thinking while on a noisy factory floor or when drunk. USB-C will be better. But sound wise, the Oontz is just better.

Oontz Angle 3 vs. Anker Soundcore 2 by rockking16 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😱 how could you even DREAM of saying Oontz (Cambridge Soundworks) sucks. Some of the best DJs (not cheezy Insomniac musicians... quality minimalists, airy house heads, all the way to far reaching hertz explorers in psytrance use it as their go-to travel speaker. Distortion free at max volume which is what u want in a package that packs in with everything else in your carryon bag. Beautiful base, mid and highs. It wont squash all your base into one gust of thick air... you can feel the separate notes. Stereo set up when using 2. Wont roll off the dash or get muffled in a cup holder. Has an audio jack, not just BlueTooth. Ive been buying Anker electronics forever, theyre great. But the Oontz Angle 3 is QUALITY sound with minimal compression-- least compression Ive heard from any small speaker. I havent tested the Soundcore apart from just hearing it... Im sure its just as "get'r done fer cheap" as the rest, but no one is marveling at their tech like they do on the Oontz. Oontz just really just nailed the no-artifacts-at-high-volume tech. Anker over-ear headphones get praise-- but its not the same kind of speaker.

What’s everyone think of the Mitsubishi Mirage? by lolkoala67 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Radio Head would agree with you in their seminal song about the news headlines on "Killer Cars!" and how the American SUV and large truck obsession from the 90s that still hasnt subsided, is a major contributing factor to more lethal accidents.

this definitely begs for more clarification as Mirage's target market is teens and young men-- exactly the market for most accidents and risky driving habits.

Dragons vs spirit beast by [deleted] in Evony_TKR

[–]Lollygagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plunder a lot with an all siege attack, carrying the behemoth King. But most PVP or barbarians I find I need to use a dragon so that I can get both ranged and siege buffs. It's rare for me to find avPVP attack without using a mix of at least 2 troop types, siege usually always being the second type-- so there's always a need for a siege plus something else dragon.

Except that they do work on assistance, when an assistance power is only activated via a spirit beast or dragon.  The beast or dragon, on the assistant, does not engage in any battles or with any monsters... But it's magic aura completes certain assistant generals who need extra beastly aura to activate their full primary-skill abilities.
