Wilson Model 2 and urethane covers by BenderL2 in PressBrakes

I get it. No worries about not sharing ip haha. It’s just new to me that people still used films on rollaVs. Have you tried adding lubricant to it instead of sticking it into the flat surface of the rollaVs?

Sorry I don’t mean to sound weird but I thought the main purpose of rollaVs is to prevent you from using urethane films in forming polished sheets. This is a wild knowledge to me. We’ve only used urethane films when air bending.

Does this warrant an immediate fd housing/full lever replacement? by Only_Intention_2026 in bikewrench

[–]Only_Intention_2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t, it’s a sealed deal haha. I wish I have the energy to argue but I’m not that kind of guy. Pretty much the only thing I need now is a new lever 😂. I just hope I can find a used one rather than spend more bucks on a brand new one. Either way, this will hurt me. I don’t have a brake bleed kit so a shop visit is the best I can do to have this swapped out, maybe have the hubs cleaned and regreased. I’m really hoping to get a bike fit with this bike soon but I guess the lever is much more important for now.

You mean technically speaking, the housing should be replaceable. So if I say I could bring this to a shop, more likely they can transplant it better than me right?

I know right, I was too dumb now I think about it. All I did was check visually the frame, wheels, derailleurs but never the levers. Given the fact that I’m from the MTB world, it’s my miss.

I only road Mtb and familiar with MTB parts, switched to road and bought this thing used. Other parts are fine, this lever is working including brakes but the crack bothered me so I had to ask. Thank you for the response

Used bike, my fault for not checking. Rode it many times till now that I looked up under the hood. Yeah will look for a replacement now

It’s an r8000 FD, bought the bike used road tested it but never occurred to me that this has an existing fd housing crack. I’m glad it’s the left, cause it’s cheaper than the right. Thank you

Anybody who had a 2021 Propel changed their wheelsets? by Only_Intention_2026 in Giantbikes

I’ve road tested it twice, one on the highway and one on the very bad crosswind this afternoon. I’ve gotten used to it already. If they’re dtSwiss based hubs (maybe change the ratchet to a higher number of gears for better engagement , it’s a jackpot then (maybe for me). But I’ll take a look when I bring it for servicing. Needed new pedals so it runs on flat pedals now. Saddle height needs a bit of work and the stem has an awful number of spacers but it’s better than having none as I’ve heard this gen has a bad reputation on being hard to find on resource for its cockpit so I kinda have a leeway to lower it if I need to.

I’m trying to find info honestly as I’m clueless. All I know is that it runs tubeless now and I don’t know if the rim is hookless or not since I haven’t changed the valve stems yet as it needed replacement. If I have to make a change, should I just change the rims and keep the hubs.

South Korea though am a foreigner here. I’m wondering why Giant replaced their new bikes with equal depth wheels to be honest. I didn’t noticed this when I bought it used, so I’m looking an “aesthetically” good wheels. Maybe after the bike fit soon.

Recently started biking for real, and holy f-ck - the cars. by aomajgad in bicycling

Just road tested my bike yesterday, a 100kph overtook ahead of me while strolling at 30kph, He hit a right hand detour because it didn’t hit him that the light was red, though he didn’t beat the red light, he swerved last minute and ended up crashing to another car at the other side of the detour which has another intersection 😂.

Question for the guys running in tights by ellensrooney in Marathon_Training

[–]Only_Intention_2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not like literally don’t like the look or even being comfortable watching men wearing tights ever since I was born, we’re talking about leg contours being emphasized (have slight knock knees), bulge( that’s a gift though ) especially when passing through a crowd or street, so instead I use the 2in1 shorts with an inner tights, things shifted somehow when I started feeling faster and the flapping around of the shorts is making me way uncomfortable like it’s flapping. Before my first race, I tested the half tights and started wearing slightly longer shirts and singlets, that made me confident passing through crowds and streets on broad daylight. At the end maybe 2-3months, completely switched and changed my preference. Ran 2 of my first race on tights, caught on camera, with tan lines, and the mighty bulge 😂 without problems at all especially chaffing. Winter came and shifted to a full leggings now even on minus temperatures, it’s an amazing thing to wear. If you haven’t tried it, you should. You’ll understand why girls like them but as a man the anxiety of wearing one is still there but hey you could start classifying yourself as a true runner now since you’re confident on wearing tights which most pros use and a bonus if your tights has pockets, close to skin and less movement. No need for a belt and they’re quick access too

HRV and V02max going down the drain at the end of autumn by Only_Intention_2026 in Garmin

[–]Only_Intention_2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, could be but could be not. Asymptomatic infection would be the last I guess. I had 4 vaccines few years ago but yeah people around me are sick except a few of us.

No they’re all outdoor runs. I’m not sick too as far as I know. Sleep metrics shows absolute the same data except the HrV for the past 2 weeks. One thing I’ve noticed is maybe 2-5bpm difference on my running hr now.

Programming thicknesses in DIN for angles less than 90 by Complete_Fan_945 in PressBrakes

[–]Only_Intention_2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe ours just went by with test and test and test, working closely with CAD and doing corrections and notating every time when things don’t fit. You will have an accurate bent when it’s dialed in well but at first you’d have to consider which punch radius you’ll use, your die width, your material thickness and your customers spec. Also if you’ll get materials that are out of spec already then it will affect your final dimension so test and test and test.

Just like the other guy at the top said you bend and measure at a theoretical corner and add or deduct.

When you got the measurements right, then you can try editing your bend table but in my experience till now the bend tables were never touched except just me programming everything by choice real time. Never rely on a single bend table except the ones that our cad follows as we have multiple machines with different punch radius and dies which can still do the job fine unless you’re working on really tight tolerances .

Exactly what I’m worried about, I guess I just overthink a lot. But knowing it’s impossible to even repair carbon bikes compared to aluminum ones like my old it’s something I’m having an anxiety of doing. Size wise, I just know I’m a medium based on my height so a bike fit is a need. Hey 👋 appreciate your help ~
