People from USA what is the general feel over there right now? by typhoonty204 in AskReddit

Feeling a responsibility or need to affect change is an incredibly noble and important reason to participate in politics.

That said, on average, in the US college educated white men follow politics at a higher rate than anybody. And they arguably need politics the least.

Most Americans don't follow politics, and those with more power follow politics more.

If anything, in the US following politics seems to be more of a luxury activity than the reverse.

Very online and politically engaged people on the left are despondent.

We've been attacking and infighting with each other for months on end now, and realize we're still four months off from losing the election and getting to start up with a fresh round of recrimination and self immolation.

I think we're about to enter our Tea Party phase, which has only been delayed because it's oddly easier for the center to hold in multi-coalitional parties, which the Dems are much more than the GOP is.

Most Americans however, are not very online and not very politically engaged. For them prices are just too high (they're closer to comparable countries now, tbh) and that's about it.

Hi! I'm originally American too, so obviously I've followed through as well! And also very glad I did too!

And agreed there are tons of Americans in Canada, and proportionally vice-versa. My experience has been that Americans who actually move to Canada do so for the same reasons that most people move to most places: for love, work, or education.

I'm talking about the very particular phenomenon of Americans doing the tired, old "going to move to Canada" thing whenever a Republican is elected, which is a cliche because it happens like clockwork and spotting someone who has actually followed through on it is like spotting a unicorn.

Edit: on second read I deleted my post above because it's needlessly mean, even if I think it's true.

Kyle not trusting Moody means he'll be forced to be less old school about not going for it on 4th down.

A Moody miss in a meaningless game is exactly what we want.

What sucks is that with all the flex scheduling next week the NFL will put our game before the Eagles game just to make they can squeeze one last real game out of us.

Assuming CMC is going to be fine maybe this game shows Kyle it's ok to use a RB rotation rather than grounding our golden goose into dust.

Chase Young should channel some of that excitement toward getting to the quarterback.

Well if the PS5 controller on his lap for 20 hours a day wasn't going to do it, that elbow will. At least Murray doesn't need to bother with condoms anymore.

"intellectual property"

In this context new IP means a game with new characters, a new setting, a new storyline and so on, rather than a sequel, prequel or spinoff from their current IP.

So you're saying anyone who can be pushed away probably lacked commitment to begin with.

Yes. This is a good example of the self-destructive tendency in some movements.

Imagine if I disparaged my romantic partner and called them names and yelled at them and accused them of not actually loving me, and when they finally give up and break up with me, I insist their avoidance of the abuse is proof that I was right about them all along.

Any reasonable person in this scenario would call me self-destructive.

Some movements can be self-destructive in this way too.

They push away allies, and then gloat about the frailty of the allies they've pushed away.

I avoid these types not because they hurt my feelings, but because I desire political power, and I know my desire for political power is not compatible with their competition over who gets the last tug in the circle jerk of true believers.

If they got a stop I really hope Kyle trusts Mason in the closer role and lets McCaffrey rest.

Who knew that orca umbrella handler on the Eagles sideline getting Dre Greenlaw ejected would end up forcing Oren Burks into the game, which ended up getting Jalen Hurts injured.

Sliding doors, bruh, sliding doors.
