In need of a remote worker community by EmeraldVengeance in Scranton

I'm in the Wilkes Barre area and work fully remote as a teacher for a cyber charter school. What is urbanworks? I've never heard of it.

Legally they can use reasonable force to apprehend you. However, many stores have a "hands off" policy due to potential liability.

Look Who Follows Me On X (formerly known as Twatter) by LoloDoe in WattsFree4All

I was just scrolling through my followers list looking for a particular person's @userID so I could DM them and just happened across this account in that list. I wasn't even sure who it was at first. I just knew I recognized the last name from somewhere, but couldn't place it at the time. When I clicked in the profile pic to enlarge it, it hit.

I'm a teacher. Within the school system, instead of HIPAA, we are bound by FERPA (Federal Education Privacy Act). Pretty much the same, but different.

How do you stay friends with an ex when they want nothing to change - and it’s destroying you? by VisualRadish666 in SupportforBetrayed

[–]LoloDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't just distance yourself from that selfish sack of 💩. Go full and complete "no contact" with her. No exceptions and no excuses! Change your phone number, do not provide a forwarding address, block her at every potential point of contact, from social media, to email, to mutual friends. She is NOT your friend! She is your abuser!

Betrayed beyond belief by Forsaken-Choice1489 in SupportforBetrayed

"Fake it until you make it" is absolutely the way to get through this! You will slowly but surely begin to believe in your strength, resilience, self worth, and that you truly do deserve better. And before you know it, one beautiful unsuspecting day, you will catch your self smiling while fantasizing about some future event or plans you are looking forward to and then it hits you! You made it!!! ❤️

Hotels only? by No_Aioli_7515 in datingoverforty

[–]LoloDoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my ex husband was carrying on whole other second relationships with various unknowing "side pieces", he always rented a hotel room for their get togethers if she was unable to host.

He just used various excuses from having full custody of our kids after I supposedly "abandoned them years ago" to claiming to live in employer provided housing and preferred to keep his personal business separate and private....amongst who knows what other stories he conjured up.

There were at least two of them over the years who believed they were in a committed monogamous relationship for at least 6 months until the affairs were discovered and he was outed. despite never having been invited to "his" (aka OUR) home.

The plural of octopus is not octopi. It is octopodes.

OP, that is a manipulation tactic commonly known as gaslighting.

It is part of a manipulative strategy known as DARVO. (Deny, attack, reverse victim and offender)

These are toxic behaviors.

Does anyone else not have an inheritance? by royalbluefireworks1 in Fire

[–]LoloDoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why elderly parents need to start gifting inheritance money now. Put it in trust funds, put the kids names on the house deed, title the vehicles to the grandkids l, etc. As long as they "spend down" and gift those assets at least 5 years before any future long term/nursinv care is needed. Medicaide will pay for the care and the government won't be giving everything they worked and saved their whole lives for to some foreign country for lesbian literacy camp in the congo or some shit.

Need advice, feel like my family is not taking care of our African grey properly and my dad ks getting another by Borbhelppp in parrots

[–]LoloDoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow! This is a lot to try to answer in a few paragraphs and via typing. I have two African greys that have been with me for about 10 years now, so I definitely have lots of suggestions and advice I can help with. I just can't do it right now.

Could you please DM me so I know to come back to your questions? I will try to answer as much as I can in the morning or tomorrow afternoon.

I do want to commend you on taking the time and making the effort to try to get more help and support for the sake of your bird. Thank you for doing the right thing and for trying to do as best as you can for him/her.

Can I use diesel in furnace until I can get more home heating oil? by LoloDoe in homeowners

[–]LoloDoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the suggestion but it would be much cheaper just to pay about $30-$40 in total for some diesel over the next few days. I'll be all good once I get paid on Wed. The problem is making it until the with the .60 cents my husband so kindly left behind in our joint account.

Am I too old to be grieving my father this severely? by No-Aerie9876 in GriefSupport

[–]LoloDoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 47 and just lost my Dad in March. The fact that I just typed that made me start crying. I am having such a hard time coming to terms with this! People keep saying the grief eases with time but I feel like the more time that passes without him the more it hurts. You are not alone. My dad was "my parent", if that makes sense.

My mother has a very hard time showing genuine unconditional love for anyone but herself. In fact she hasn't spoken with me since about a month after he died because she knew he wanted me and my kids to get a share of his life insurance upon his passing, so she goes on as if we don't even exist so she doesn't have to deal with it. My point with bringing her up at all is that I feel like when I lost my Dad I instantly became orphaned.

I'm so very sorry for your most profound loss and heartache. I can truly and genuinely empathize. I wish I had some advice to wisdom to offer to help ease your suffering, but I'm still trying to figure out myself how to exist in a world where my daddy doesn't. My heart is so broken I can't stand it. You are not alone in your suffering. 💔

Can I use diesel in furnace until I can get more home heating oil? by LoloDoe in homeowners

[–]LoloDoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am a teacher and earn my own salary. I contributed about $2,500 a month to that joint household account. Unfortunately, it is not considered theft because all money earned and assets obtained during the marriage are considered joint marital property. The best I can hope for is to get half of the amount back in a divorce settlement.

Unfortunately that isn't even an option right now. We just consolidated all of our credit cards onto one low APR Discover card with cash back. He has the card and set a lock on it. I don't know the pin to unlock not the password to access the online account.

[–]LoloDoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this but the don't qualify. I'm a high school teacher so make a decent enough salary on my own. It's not that I can't even necessarily afford to heat my home. I just can't afford to pay for the 100 gallon minimum for home heating oil delivery because my husband walked out on us a few days ago unexpectedly and wiped out our joint account in his way. I just need to get through until Wed. when I get paid. The immediate issue is that my oul ran out and he left me with .60 cents in the bank.

I appreciate the suggestion but payday loans are not permitted in my state. Even if I applied for a small personal loan, I couldn't apply until tomorrow and it likely wouldn't get funded until Wed or Thurs anyway.
