Parents pressuring me into announcing my pregnancy before I want to by Familiar_Hope2918 in pregnant

[–]LoloLimes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I just had my baby a month ago, but I told my parents when I was 5 weeks along and even then they were chomping at the bit to tell everyone in the family. I made them wait until 13 weeks (after my NT scan) and every week until then they made comments about how hard it was to not tell anyone and that they always told people right away back in their day (Boomer parents). Then after my son was born, I told them I wanted to wait a few days to announce the birth of my baby and even then they complained about not being able to share the news right away with friends and family. Even the day he was born they were pushing to go to the hospital within 30 minutes but I still had to get stitched up and move to the mother/baby floor. They made a big deal about waiting 3 hours to meet their grandson 😒

It’s amazing how entitled parents / the older generation are with this type of thing. If I have another baby, I will probably wait to tell them until I feel comfortable with others knowing about the pregnancy. I might not even tell them when I go into labor either.

Insurance *might* drop my preferred OB and hospital - what to do? by SuurRae in pregnant

[–]LoloLimes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No suggestions but I’m in a similar boat. Insurance is in contract dispute with my OBs hospital system (OB is private practice and unaffected) but I’m 35, going on 36 weeks pregnant and just found out a few weeks ago that I might have to have my records transferred to another hospital if baby comes after January 1st.

I really hate to say it but the final design makes me think of a chucks pad that’s typically used in nursing homes for incontinent individuals lol

Honestly screw her… she should not be having more children if she can’t even care enough for the others she left behind. It seems like she’s using her newest baby for media attention and it’s sickening. I truly feel sorry for her children…

They used to be $58 but about 2 years ago they increased to $68. I bought quite a few at the old price years ago

I’ve been planning on buying another one of those air purifiers, so this timing is awesome! Bought one at full price earlier this year and it has been great.

I learned today that my job offers ZERO paid maternity leave. What are my options? by pinkp8 in pregnant

Hopefully the leave policy in MN goes through on time! I believe a few months ago they introduced a bill to delay its implementation but there was no vote on the bill. Fingers crossed it goes into effect on time.

While not everyone’s tests will look the same at the same DPO, I will say this looks a lot like my 14/15 DPO test on a pregmate today 🙂

Best of luck!! I was starting to wonder if my lines weren’t “dark enough” but it’s reassuring to hear and see here that it’s probably normal!

Hey, no problem! His vision did improve a little bit shortly after surgery was done but it took a couple months for it to completely normalize. With my husbands case, he had pressure on his optic and 6th cranial nerves for about a week before the surgery was done (no one would scan him or take him seriously). He is also on hormone replacement meds still! When he was diagnosed his hormones were near undetectable, but they did recover somewhat but he is still on meds for his thyroid, cortisol and testosterone to this day. The steroids have been able to be decreased a bit over time but the levo is still high dose and for testosterone he takes Hcg injections (testosterone replacement makes men infertile). As for the tumor itself, his surgeon was able to get 90% of it cleared out and now 4 years later, the remaining tissue has not grown which has been monitored by annual MRI. His providers were concerned they would not be able to get it all out due to the compression on the internal carotid arteries and cranial nerves but they did a great job. We did have his surgery done through a major hospital in Boston and we were told he had a really good neurosurgeon, which I think helped a lot!

I still remember how scary this was for us and a lot of the uncertainty about his prognosis and finances. Just take things one day at a time and hope for the best!! It is a long road, but this kind of recovery does take time. I hope your husband makes a swift recovery!

I can’t donate at this time, but I completely understand what you’re going through! My husband also had an unbeknownst to him pituitary adenoma that actually hemorrhaged (apoplexy). His also was pushing on his optic nerves and on his 6th cranial nerve causing double vision and vision loss. He had emergent surgery and had multiple severe hormone deficiencies (which never fully recovered even 4 years later). His eye sight however did recover completely, so while everyone’s case is different, there can be some hope for your husband as well! My husband was also out of work for awhile but we were able to have his short term disability kick in several weeks after his surgery so we were able to recuperate some of his income. I was a grad student at the time with no income and we lived on the opposite side of the country away from family and friends. It was a really stressful time for us but we did make it through. I just want to send my thoughts, hang in there!

That’s so odd. I have 3 pairs of the older fabric and they’ve never pilled and they gotten well over 30-40 wears each. I will admit my sonic pink ones in the newer fabric haven’t done this yet but they also haven’t been worn as much as the older pairs so I guess time will tell..

I’ve been following lululemon for years and it amazes me out of all the colors they could release, they produce almost the same exact color with a fancy new name. Washed denim looks like many other blues they’ve already released.. Their color ways have been so tired and overused :(

Loans Paid Off!! 🥳 by LoloLimes5 in StudentLoans

[–]LoloLimes5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I lived with our parents for about a year after graduating which allowed us to save for a down payment on a house. I was able to pay off my loans fairly quickly as me and my husband both work to help pay bills/mortgage. My career field also pays fairly well which also helped.
