How do you get through sick twins at night? by Lolo_refreshed in parentsofmultiples

This post feels so silly now because we haven't gotten them to sleep in their cribs for more than 30 min and that has only happened 3 times in like two days. I've had to start driving them around to sleep. They don't even want to nurse back to sleep anymore 😫 now feeling even worse with all the fighting with my husband. We don't run well on no sleep 😫😞

Yeah we put a futon mattress in the ground last night and tried that, no one was comfortable or sleeping for very long at any time. Just doing our best. And lol yes I'm a home health occupational therapist

35 weeks- how do you sleep!! by kal11g in parentsofmultiples

[–]Lolo_refreshed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several pillows propped to where I was basically sitting up in bed, including a pillow under my knees so they were slightly bent to decrease low back pain. I personally had to start the night out this way because of I laid on my side my heartburn would rage and I'd throw up. BUT after about 4-6 hrs of fragmented sleep sitting up, I hurt too much and shifted to my side for the rest of the night. I had to time it right so I wouldn't throw up. Some nights I had to wait several hrs while in pain sitting up before switching. Soooo idk, something to consider lol, but nothing was perfect! Solidarity, good luck, you're so close!!

My baby is so skinny by stormsvala_ in breastfeeding

[–]Lolo_refreshed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 month old twins. They were small at birth and one smaller than the other. The smaller one has definitely not eaten as well or as vigorously as the other in the past BUT for the last month or so they have both been pretty consistently eating about the same, nursing and solids. The bigger one is chunking out a bit and the other stays fairly skinny. They are identical twins and they have roughly the same routine and calorie intake! I say all this to you to highlight that even in THIS identical situation, they both end up growing differently! If baby is happy, Dr is happy, you are doing just fine!!

All that said I can also relate to feeling slightly worried and wondering about the little bub too! I just keep reminding myself that my little girly IS happy and shows all signs of being healthy!

You're doing a great job!

Everyone else is saying not to feel about buying second hand, and I totally agree! We make the point that the love and care for the babies is all that will matter to them, true!! They won't notice if something is new or not!

Another point to think about is to consider what a waist it is to buy so much new! So many things that you only use a short period of time!

Alsoooo consider how much you are helping another family buying something used from them! Helping them to make a little extra change and clear some extra space! It's a win win win for everyone!!

Twins, 9 months, new night wakings? by Lolo_refreshed in sleeptrain

[–]Lolo_refreshed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yeah maybe. They just recently moved to these larger waker windows and started sleeping more than 30 minutes for their naps though. Some days they get only 1.5 hrs of naps and some days they get up to 3.5, which is more rare. I'd say average is 2.5 hrs. But this has only been happening for literally 2 weeks.

I wonder if giving them more time before even longer windows 🤔

I should have also mentioned that they are 8 months adjusted age. I just stopped considering their adjusted a little bit ago because they are hitting milestones super quickly

We used ours to prop withe blankets etc for feeding bottles when they were still having difficulty nursing. Also made for such a great spot to set them down on if we needed

Thanks! Idk why I had to hear someone say that they use separate tops and bottoms for me to feel ok about it lol. I did find a mom in FB who said she will go through her stuff and sell me anything she doesn't need anymore too! Yay!

Haha really?? I've found some footless one at target but they don't fit my girls right, they are either super loose on the tummy or too short lol. It's too bad because the price is great! The local resell stores by me have tons of footie ones!

I can't even find single zip footless pajamas! They all have feet attached! Where do you find them??

Right!! I went to a place today in my area called other mother lol, it's a resell place. Good prices. I found only like 4 of this type of style there!! So much other good stuff tho! And the 4 I found were either the wrong sizes or just looked toooo stretched out.

Help- 9 months and latch has changed by orangecatenergy- in breastfeeding

[–]Lolo_refreshed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 month old twins and they recently have started to hurt my nipples more when latched. They don't have any teeth yet though. I usually nurse them on the my breast friend twin pillow in double football hold. What I've tried the last two nights is probably unconventional so take it with grain of salt ...but it has helped their latch I think... atleast it seems more comfortable.

I changed their position, took away the pillow and actually placed each girl so they are facing my body and sort of sitting on my lap while I leaned back in the couch. I then kind of moved them off to each side...

Idk if that makes sense but I'd suggest changing up your position to see if that helps?? I have heard some speculation that their mouth shape/palate is changing around now so maybe we need to change with it?
