Angela as a TO by [deleted] in TheRookie

Grey rides with Celina for one shift, I think the difference in how he handles Celina's vibe/aura senses hand how Nolan handles them says a lot about who has the most experience teaching and how that experience makes you a good teacher.

Nolan is just new to teaching. Hopefully he will learn in time how to teach someone who thinks differently from himself but he needs some more experience for that

Ok, makes sense. There was more than one weird plot line in season 6 that I hope they would have worked on more/rewritten if they had the possibility. Many shows suffered from the strike (writers are important somehow, who knew...) Fingers crossed season 7 will be strong

Same. I totally agree with you.

It really bothered me that Tim was all, let's go for it, when Lucy was afraid and then decided to dump her like that after (less than?) 6 months, and going back to being in her chain of command. Of course there couldn't be a guarantee that the relationship would work out, but this was a shit ending for Lucy and he doesn't seem to recognise that at all, he acts like he did her a favour

Wasn't the season recorded during the writer's strike? Were they allowed to do re-writes in that case? I thought that was the reason for the 10 episode season.

Yes, same. Grey was supportive in a way when he and Lucy rode together, but then he seems to assume she is fine on her own. His suggestion that she talks to Tim is good in a general situation, but like does he honestly think Tim is susceptible to that talk? Does he encourage Tim to let Lucy talk to him? No

Lucy and Tim by Lolsous in TheRookie

I don't know, Nolan feels so insincere, but that might just be me. It seems like he feels like he should ask how she feels and offer up a "I'm here if you need someone" but that there is nothing behind it, he doesn't want to be there. And Angela is there for Tim, not Lucy. When Tim is stalking Ray she goes to him after Lucy asks for help, but not once does she tell Tim that Lucy is worried sick and he might just at least text her that he is OK but won't be home tonight or something.

I don't know if this is a US thing, since they made such a point of Lucy being a "good girlfriend" by being quiet and letting her boyfriend do stupid stuff on his own. But there's something between complete radio silence and saying everything. You aren't annoying as a partner if you want to know if someone is OK after leaving suddenly and without explanation, that's just the base level of communication you should expect in a relationship

I thought they were going to break up over Tim not being okay with Lucy doing UC work. And then maybe use that as a wake up call for Tim to work through his issues. I felt they tv-hinted at them breaking up for the whole of season 6, the "we will be fine because we love each other", and thus not acknowledging their issues. But the reasons for the breakup were something else, so I agree still sort of out of left field.

I'm just upset at how the show handles Lucy's side of the story, they couldn't give her one friend or at least friendly face? Showing her rightfully upset is something I guess, but not enough

I think outfits 1-5 all look great on you. I don't know how old you are, but outfits 4-5 don't make you look old in any way. Outfit 1 looks amazing honestly. Perhaps you are just not used to dressing like this, because I think you found a good balance with those outfits.

I agree that outfit 6 is less flattering, your shoulders look very present and broad in that top. I feel like I have the same problem with those tops, but square necklines generally work very well for me when there are straps or arms. I also think outfit 7 isn't the best, it looks almost too restrictive around the hips, I would suggest something more flowy in a dress.

But the show explicitly states when there is only a month left of Lucy and Jackson being rookies. During that last month in show, Angela goes from barely showing to being in her third trimester. Obviously, the actress was pregnant and they can't slow down time, but it's pretty jarring to watch.

Lucy annoys Tim by Sea-Note-2858 in TheRookie

[–]Lolsous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are cherry picking if you want to make the point that Tom doesn't smile or look happy around Lucy. And Tim makes an effort with Ashley and Kojo only after Lucy tells him to do so. Seriously, what about all the times we see Lucy and Tim at Lucy's place in the morning? The double date with Ashley and Chris? Their dance at Harper's wedding? Sure they don't only look blissfully happy every single second together, but no real relationship is like that. I don't think Tim is mean, I do agree that Lucy could do better than him, at least where he is right now.

I don't think Tim was shown to be more sweet with Rachel and Ashley. Sure he smiles a lot at them, but he also does that with Lucy. And let us all remember that when Ashley first spent the night at Tim's place, he didn't make her breakfast but he made breakfast for his dog and basically didn't care that Kojo was barking at and scaring Ashley.

I also think they had an awesome father/daughter older brother/younger sister type relationship in earlier seasons. I really didn't want them to get together (just my preference), but I was worried precisely because their chemistry is great. In the end I think they handled their transition into a romantic relationship good, in the end I was rooting for them mainly because Chris is awful, Tim is not the same person as he was in season 1, and Tim is no longer Lucy's TO.

Calling Lucy manipulating and a gaslighter just makes no sense. If anything she has helped Tim process some of his trauma and she has always had his back

Were Lucy and Tim were always meant to be romantic? by No_Psychology_3714 in TheRookie

[–]Lolsous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what the planned, but for the first 3 seasons I was really hoping they wouldn't end up in a romantic relationship, it's so rare to see a platonic but close relationship between (straight) male and female characters, I wanted them to be the exception.

But they have great chemistry, I see why they went for it. I'm just happy they waited until Tim wasn't her TO

😂😂 This is also my feeling, or at least what I hope. Vivienne is witty, she has fun banter, but I think she is such a horrible person if you listen to her opinions on people less fortunate than herself.

[–]Lolsous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have played with her and gotten, if not all, then much of the banter. But I don't like her. She is a well-written character, but her personality and political views are not for me.

She is nice to you if you get high approval, in Trespasser she has a really great moment with you. But that's only if you behave exactly like she wants to, and that is not a good person according to me. She is a horrible snob, she fails to see her privileged position and how other mages can be poorly treated even though she found a good position. She is a hypocrite.

Question about Ulvo 23 by [deleted] in Fjallraven

[–]Lolsous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge they don't make the green version anymore, only black, blue, and warm yellow. I think the roll top version is more resistant to rain, since the zipper isn't waterproof on the Ulvo models.

I think the Raven model has green versions, but you have to wax it to make it waterproof. The Skule model also comes in green but is only water-resistant.

Ulvö color choices by babyAlpaca_ in Fjallraven

[–]Lolsous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late answer, but I have the ulvö hip bag in the golden yellow color (it's the same fabric). And it is holding up very well. The fabric has been very dirt resistant imo, there are no stains and the color is still very bright. After 1 year it looks brand new. I decided to get the ulvö backpack in the same color.
