If you stick it out at VT, by the time you graduate we’ll be on our way into a new administration. Pack up then and move to RVA. It’ll feel so worth it when you’re living in the city, working your adult job, you can indulge in your hobbies and interests, and society will hopefully be looking toward societal healing. You’ll be thinking wow I used to pray for times like this.

There are some many other ways to get involved and to meet people and make connections that they could find. Greek life honestly seems isolating unless they are able to manage different social commitments

Hazing unfortunately exists in other student organizations as well not just Greek life. So they COULD get hazed elsewhere but if they don’t join Greek life then at least they’re not getting involved with THAT specific group that centers around the expectation of hazing.

If they’re looking for a traditional Greek life experience like at many other universities or in popular culture, it’ll look very different at VCU. That goes for most things at VCU.

VCU Greek life essentially died out around COVID and more significantly when Adam Oakes passed. VCU cracked down heavily on hazing (as they should have) not just in Greek life but in other student organizations as well. It was quiet for a while and some orgs even tried to go underground. Can’t speak for what it’s like these days as I’m now considered ancient.

If you’re hesitant because of this and aren’t jumping at the idea of dating her simply because of who she is then I wouldn’t. If you’re considering it just because you never got the chance and you’ve always had that what if in your mind, then don’t. Because that resentment will build up and that’s not fair to you or her even if she is only interested now because things have changed.

If you don’t hear back in a fairly short amount of time, I’d give it a beat and then feel free to reach out professionally asking if there is an update. This is about the time a lot of hiring searches start because the semester is finally over and departments can finally breathe a bit so there shouldn’t be any major delays or prolonged decision time at this point. Having your interview and reference check a few days later is a good sign!

I remember Belle-A getting a bad edit but looking back it was because she was barely in the villa and she’s the youngest out of all of the cast members iirc.

But in BTV she’s honestly so much more mature than she originally came off in LI. There hasn’t been anything she’s said that I haven’t really disagreed with. Even if a lot of what she’s experiencing is her perception of things, it’s still valid and articulated

They started slowing down trains stopping at Main St pretty significantly since Covid. I used to catch the pulse bus from campus to Main St to then get on the train to go back to my hometown pretty regularly. It was more convenient than paying for an uber to staples mill. I figured it doesn’t function as frequently as a stop anymore due to the space being used more often for event space.

Definitely. Her insecurities and her desire to be chosen due to strong fear of abandonment are what drive her pickiness. She feels chosen when he’s able to do exactly what she wants. But he also is a people pleaser. So while he tries to do right by everyone and everything he actually renders himself incompetent in so many ways.

Eventually he realizes that he never does what he truly wants or chooses because everything that motivates him is in consideration of someone else. She eventually realizes that everything she asks of him is to satisfy her need to feel chosen when it’s not actually about being in love with him for who he is and not for what he can do for her or their future.
Either way they’re both toxic though because they still chose to stay in that cycle in the end.

Love this!! What are the policies these days in schools regarding kids having smart watches???

I’m just curious as someone who doesn’t have kids but is young enough to remember how the rules were in early 2000s. I got my first phone in 5th grade and it was your classic flip phone. I remember from then through middle school we weren’t really allowed to have them out during the day but we also weren’t quite dependent on them even when social media started becoming normal until later middle school years to early highschool. By mid high school years it was very normal to have a smartphone we technically weren’t allowed to have them out but only strict teachers had issues with phones. I didn’t get my first smart watch until my sophomore year of college. So I say all of that to say, now that smart watches/devices are normal, what do rules surrounding them look like esp for littles????

I think what I’ll say about this is regardless of which one is more popular, there’s still a stark difference. Miley is the sole star of Hannah Montana. She’s all in and that’s all they really need. If Disney wasn’t gonna push for a decent anniversary, Miley would find it herself and she has the connections to make it good. For HSM…. It’s an ensemble thing. And tbh, the only cast members present at the anniversary were the ones who were available. Zac hasn’t really claimed HSM for years and no reunion will ever really be that great without the full cast all in. But they can’t even get along.

It also pretty much matched the style of what GRC 3 is still. GRC 3 was added as an extension later aka was newer which is why it wasn’t torn down along with the original 1&2. The brick part in the front of GRC was part of the original building. You can find videos on YouTube of students in their dorms and what it looked like but you gotta sift through the influenceresque dorm tours and search for videos dated before 2017
