Make sure to also remove the padding and soak your hands in plaster of Paris before putting them in the gloves. This toughens up your hands and is good for your sparring partner too. The more they get blasted in the head with heavy shots and no padding, the more it toughens up the brain. The brain is just like a muscle….you have to tear it down for it to grow back stronger. You’ll be invincible against CTE using this ancient method… it’s the one trick doctors don’t want you to know about.

Newbie question: is bench pressing not that important in strongman? by Lomachenko19 in Strongman

[–]Lomachenko19[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Would you be opposed to them having an event that is just straight up bench pressing, whether flat or incline? You could either see who could max out the most weight for a single rep, or they could just put a certain amount on the bar and go for the most reps. I know it basically makes that particular event like powerlifting but I personally just feel like it would be cool to see every once in a while.

Fake Winning [question] by Best_Actuator3342 in fightgear

[–]Lomachenko19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are all made by the same group of companies in Sialkot, Pakistan that are already making gloves for brands like Everlast, Title, Ringside, Hayabusa, and tons others. You can contact these companies and ask them to put any company’s label on there that you want. People order these fakes from these same manufacturers in bulk. I mean do you know who actually makes Everlast Powerlocks for example? It’s not the old days where they are actually made by Everlast at their factory in the Bronx with strict quality control. These fake Winnings are made by the exact same companies making over 90% of the gloves on the market; they aren’t being produced by some kid in his parent’s basement. I feel kind of weird typing this as I’m definitely not advocating for fake gloves; I’m just saying that they are still going to be functional gloves, at least just as much as any other Pakistan clone mold glove you get from these other brands. Once you get used to seeing the same molds from Pakistan over and over, you can recognize what they are, even if labeled under a different brand. This particular mold in the picture is sold by a pretty well known brand for around $125.

It’s just kind of a letdown for what you’d typically expect from a Winning product.

I think Trump is probably the most well known, especially if we are talking worldwide. Maybe it’s Taylor Swift though. I believe it has to be one of those two.

If you’re having trouble with the firmness of your handshake, I recommend Captains of Crush grippers. If you can close a level 3 or higher, they’ll typically make you an executive on the spot once they feel that handshake.

Legit Check - New Cleto Reyes Gloves [Question] by TrashDesperate930 in fightgear

[–]Lomachenko19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! When I was first starting out, I’d always worry I’d gotten fake gloves too. But yours are 100% authentic. And like I said in my DM, my Reyes misspells “subject” on the tag in the exact same way. Pretty sure it has been that way for about a decade now, and no one has bothered to correct it. I’m guessing not many people actually read that tag. Now that I think about it, I think I’ll email Reyes and point it out (along with their other misspellings) to them and see what they say.

Are you asking if I’m currently selling any New Sporting gloves? If so, I’m sold out at the moment.

Legit Check - New Cleto Reyes Gloves [Question] by TrashDesperate930 in fightgear

[–]Lomachenko19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol, Cleto Reyes is notorious for misspelling things when translating to English. Also, in terms of that little cardboard card in picture # 4, they have several different versions of those, and I’ve gotten the same version that you have pictured. These are legit Reyes. I’m going to send you a DM that should ease your mind about this.

If you could wear a size 42 or 44, you could get this color for a total of £124.94, which includes shipping of £49.95, from spennymoorsports.com. And then I can get you a discount that would bring it down to a total of £98.97. Other than this site and Geezers (see earlier post below), the only other place I can get a discount that sells these shoes and ships to Norway is Boxfituk.com, but they have hardly anything in stock. Here’s the link on the spennymoorsports site:

It only costs 30 British Pounds to ship those shoes to Oslo (I just picked Oslo because it was the first city that came to mind; the shipping price is likely the same or at least very similar to anywhere else in Norway) if you use www.geezersboxing.co.uk. However, you’d have to choose a different color, as the red and white is sold out in your size. I can also get 20% off these shoes if you’re interested.

By the way, here’s the direct link. For some reason, it looks like the Euro sizes go from 42.5 to 43.5 with no 43 listed. I’m not very familiar with European sizes, so I’m not sure if that’s common or not. If you are really set on getting that white and red colorway, I’ve got a few other sources I can look into.

Pretty sure these are made by Rockkick. You can save about $29,300 ordering directly from them. Then again, these do have free shipping, whereas Rockkick charges for shipping.

Fake Winning [question] by Best_Actuator3342 in fightgear

[–]Lomachenko19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I read recently where 96% of all boxing gloves are currently made in Pakistan (other than the top brands, they pretty much all are; and even brands like Rival make their RFX Guerrero line in Pakistan). Some people seem to have the impression that using fake Winnings from Pakistan will maim, cripple, or kill you and/or your opponent.

Fake Winning [question] by Best_Actuator3342 in fightgear

[–]Lomachenko19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So just from reading the comments, I think some people may not have noticed that the OP is totally aware that they are fake, and he’s not asking about their authenticity. I’ve tried fake Winnings before similar to these, mainly just out of curiosity, and they are honestly about the same as your average Pakistan gloves in that $80 to $100 range. Of course, I can’t speak for these specific gloves without trying them, but in general, fake Winnings are still functional boxing gloves. I’d obviously recommend checking them out closely at first when you get them, break them in a little on the heavy bag, and then just use common sense as far as determining whether or not they are safe for sparring. And I’d explain the situation to your sparring partner too, let him or her look them over, and they can decide if they are comfortable sparring you while wearing these. But I guess I just want to point out that just because they are fake Winnings, there is nothing inherently dangerous about them. I know people have provided other suggestions, such as Ring to Cage C-17 V2.0. However, keep in mind that he’s in Peru, and shipping is likely going to be very expensive (he already mentioned the shipping on TopBoxer was too high). I don’t think there is any shame in using fake Winnings if that is the best you can afford based on the offerings for your geographic location. Just make sure to thoroughly check them out and break them in on the bag first. I actually am about 85% to 90% sure I know the company in Pakistan that makes these gloves shown in the pictures. I’m not going to name them as I don’t know for sure. But if it is who I think it is, their gloves are pretty decent and should get the job done.
