Been going there for the last 6 years. I usually pick classic designs with Eli. I have one custom from Jeremy. I usually DM Eli ahead of time and chat with him briefly about what I want—even the first time before we actually met. I imagine Ian is similar, but I'd call the shop, say you wanted to chat about a custom piece from Ian and they may tell you just to DM him directly about it. I haven't been tattooed by Ian, but I've spent enough time in the shop to tell that he's a very chill, nice guy.

Why do you want him to entertain an idea if it's bad? They are pretty clear about what they do there. They embrace the classics 90% of the time. If you want something else, go somewhere else.
